Yes the rolling kick ,well produced, I've only just got the bass perfect bass line sound on my korg ,all I need was to turn the bass and treble right on my amplifier!
Pocket I love it bro ....it took me awhile too learn to make the 3 types of psytrance basslines on the MC-707 the triple roll ..the double time roll...and the slow off beat 2 hit roll ....and yes it's a matter of adjusting the velocity of one or sometimes two of the hits in the bass roll and where around, during, and after the kick ....this is good creation brother nicely done ...oh yeah sometimes I like too make jams where not every thing is in key but hell it sounds cool too me so I don't correct it and call experimental and move on ....never put a taught music theory limitation on the imagination of musical creation ....great track bro
Going to have to revisit Psytrance on the 707. The kick and bass is key to the genre and there will be a way to nail it without a DAW. The best jams are the ones that you just let happen. They write themselves. This psytrance trsck was one of them. It all started with the vocal sample. My 707 is one my escapes from the day to day life. I don't need people to listen but I'm happy when they do. I've seen your jams and they are next level. Roland should be paying you ha ha. Meanwhile your carte blanche remake has got me in the trance mood again.
The kick is a sample and the baseline is sequenced but uses a sample. Had to play around with the velocity and release of the kick and base to get the psy feel.
🤠 You can make a laser kick like this from an 909 kick or tom sample by setting the pitch envelope to start high initially which sweeps to a lower pitch as soon as it is triggered. Then just a touch of compression to fatten her up.
I do it with midi. Midi out from 707 to midi in on TD3. I also route the TD3 audio to the 707 so I have access to the effects. You lose a channel on the 707 but you can sequence the TD3 with the 707 so it's worth the trade off.
@@pocketjam nice! Thanx for answering. My 707 is on way to me, so i wait for it and learning some knowledge about it. I want to sync (send clock only) for external gear, but 707 doesn't have CV gate/sync clock, so maybe via midi and then some options in 707 midi settings
It's a sample from a psytrance sample pack. I tried to recreate using the 707 but just cant get it short and punchy enough. I also changed the velocity on the 3 notes to 67, 127, 97 and play with the release on the kick until it sounds about right. It's still not quite want I think a psy bass should sound like but it's getting there. I'm going to keep trying to get the classic Psy feel 😊
🤠 Try one of the oscillator structures on the 707 where the filter of one tone is fed into the the second tone's filter. That how you get the distortion growl of a 303 rather than using an distortion FX block. It's all about filter overdrive. And you can try setting the two tones to differing pitches.
Can you recommend a good psy sound pack please.? Nice Jam .! Have you tried sidechaining the 303..? Are you sidechaining the internal bassline..? I'm unable to source a TR8s at the moment so it looks like I'll be getting the mc707 too. I get some amazing acid from setting some crazy delays on my zoom ms50 it really really squeals without even flicking the distorted..! I'm looking for a site for advice on programming my sh01a to to crank out some psy riffs, would appreciate any tips. Thanks man, peace out..
Not out of tune, possibly in the wrong key. I used phrygian scale for main song and the baseline is a minor scale. It's just how the jam fell together.I liked it. It feels like you are dropping in another song. I sometimes use the same bassline in other jams. The 707 is great for this. You can have a loads of phrases, loops etc and just throw them all together in minutes and sometimes you get a happy accident.
