Can't argue with that. Gay-Z may be a billionaire but he can't deny that the majority of his success is because of the death of Biggie Smalls. When Biggie died, Gay-Z tried to take his spot as king. But Nas checked his ass and reminder him that he will always be in Biggie's shadow.
@@cole9777 yo if you a real 90s hip hop addict then you would respect jay z, if somebody in your town is a hot rapper and your a rapper too who’s from the same city as them and they die what else you supposed to do? Quit your career? Don’t blame jay z success on biggies death cause jay z is regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time, if he was really wack as you say he is, than why does he have so much respect in the industry? You ain’t a real 90s hip hop fan, plus jay z wrote Still Dre and I bet you bop the shit out of that so before you call him “gay z” just remember who wrote one of dr dre’s biggest songs 😂
@@cole9777 lol 🤡 Jay-Z is a Billionaire. Jay-Z is the king of Rap! Ice Cube was a fraud that pretended to be a gangsta and was raised up in a upper middle class family. 🤷🏿♂️
Nah he gets his respect it's just his beef with DJ quik that took him down a couple notches cuz quik bodied eiht in every single diss track during their 6-8 year beef
Jay was popping when big was alive . He just got bigger after big death because he has to hold the throne down for bk and go hard like he been and still doing. Much love to ice cube he is very talented and him and hay are both successful business man
NWA doesnt have an ice cube diss track. Taking a shot at somebody in one line in a verse of a song doesnt make the song a diss track. A message to benedict arnold was the closest they did to a diss track but a skit still isnt really a track in that sense. I think they really could have roasted cube and matched no vaseline , with their creativity combined, and cube would really have made a good target, as phony as his whole get down was.... But how could they be mad at cube for leaving NWA when everybody was leaving. he didnt shut them up, the group disbanded. If dre, ren, the d.o.c. and eazy got together to roast cube lyrically and musically they would have roasted his ass, you can see it in those home videos how they clowned him, they would have came up with something devastating musically
Definitely a GOAT 🐐 ADD THAT TO THE FACT HE WENT PLAT A BUNCH OF TIMES TIMES THAT BY HIS INFLUENCE ON POP CULTURE IM SUPPOSED TO BE NUMBER ONE ON EVERYBODY LIST SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I NO LONGER EXIST “Hov”
Cube first 3 albums was one of the best runs in hip hop, Death Certificate is the best hip hop album of all time IMO, he touched on every subject the black man go through, and it's still relevant now, he was way ahead of its time
vondrae hawkins Well said. Now that I am in my late 20's and understand what life is really about, I view and consume music differently. Cube's music from 27 years ago is still relevant today. Many of Jay's albums have not aged well.
Death Certificate is my #3 album of all time and I'm from the east coast. Only albums I take over that is Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back and Slick Rick - Great Adventures. Cube is in my top 5 if I had to make one and the best from the west coast.
Ahmad Robertson The production on Amerikkka's Most Wanted was better. But the rhymes, story telling, subject matter, album cohesiveness was much better on Death Certificate.
Ahmad Robertson Were the same exact age so are memories are on par. I'm from Boston MA. I always ask myself if I could only listen to three hip hop albums again what would they be. In order Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, Slick Rick - Great Adventures of Slick Rick, IceCube - Death Certificate.
Ice Cube is one of the rappers who achieved extreme mainstream success without ever really changing who he really is. The teenage Ice Cube of the 80s (NWA) is really the same as the 40-something-year-old legendary figure. The question is who really in hip hop in their prime was ever better than Cube?
LL Cool J , also he shows versatility in his acting career and he's still active , too bad he s sooooooooo underrated. He should have a Hollywood star asap
matubaM that war and piece 1 & 2 fucked up his discography though. Even though I liked lethal injection, it was a slump coming off of the predator. With cube also saying that lethal injection was made to prove that he didn't go soft, cube definitely changed from NWA to today.
Jay had an smoother flow, but with Cube in his prime you could close your eyes and he'd paint a vivid, accurate depiction of LA life that you could actually viualize
And Jay-Z painted a vivid picture 4 us on the east coast. I think that's something a lot of people dont get. We lived the life he was speaking on, its not a knock on Cube but he is not the lyricist that Jay is, not by a long shot. You cant say he was better than DMX or Big Pun or Big Daddy Kane or KRS or LL Cool J. That was some of the BEST lyrical dudes in the game, hell I didn't even put down a dozen other cats that are better lyricists than Cube, again not a knock but ya'll tryna 2 make him out 2 be the best & he really ain't, just sayin 💁🏾♂️💁🏾♂️💁🏾♂️💁🏾♂️
We lost so many great rappers - Eazy E, Biggie, 2Pac,... I'm just happy Ice Cube survived all the shit and we get to see & hear him today. He never let the gangsta rap down. Real OG.
Cube executed his Career correctly with the cross over to acting and directing. Cube don't get enough credit P.S August 5th 12PM EST I'm dropping a video Exposing 21 Savage on My Channel b
@@decil2156 Amerikkkas Nightmare is legendary but it can't be better than Cube's shit because all of the features killed Spice. 2Pac, Method Man & E-40 had better verses on their songs ijs.
RKD3 I'm from🗽and I started bumping Jay when Vol2 came out in '98. Jays Mount Rushmore is Vol2, Reasonable Doubt, Blue Print, MCHG & The 🖤 Album. Cube's best are AMW, Death Certificate, Lethal Injection & Predator
4:51 is monumental everyone. This is the first time Vlad ever said some real shit and it made sense at the same time. Shout out to Vlad for finally not bullshittin for a minute. I know it felt good. You should do it more often.
everything is connected d’evils, regrets, streets is watching, you must love me, where I’m from dead president 2 ??? Jay z is one of the greatest lyricist and storytellers ever
Ice cube was sooooooo ahead of his time and then he went full fledge into acting. Something about Gemini artist that gives them a convincing realness when they speak. Cube pac biggie Lauren hill Kanye, facts
Still as big as Jay Z is..ppl keep talking about how beyonce has bigger hits!..So If it was Beyonce and Ice Cube...than Cube would totally be called Mr. beyonce rather than recognized for being a GOAT.
I was going to say he was wrong but then I thought about it....thats a tough one. Cube was doing street music AND POLITICAL music. im speaking on prime status now Cube prime 88-96 Jay 99-06. do ya research but i cant decide. Let the debate begin
MaskedAvenger13 Reasonable Doubt The Blueprint The Black Album American Gangster 4:44 Vol 1 Amerikkas Most Wanted Death Certificate The Predator Lethal Injection Laugh Now Cry Later Raw Footage
GAmacBoi478 jay z had many platinum albums and has money but were his albums actually GOOD , I tried bumping all of his albums and only about 3-4 of them were actually solid
Theirs no need Ice Cube wins easy their is nothing in Jay Z catalog touching Ice Cube in prime easy Straight Outta Compton , Easy Duz It , Amerikkka's , Kill At Will Ep , Dead , Predator and Lethal Injection Shit You Better Come On In I dont even have to look at Jay what Life and Time 3 The Dynasty
Rick James Numbers do lie. Jay always had a machine behind him called Def Jam. Also, Jay is the master of inflating album sales. 4:44 went Platinum because of his deal with Sprint. I do not count those as "real" album sales.
Not True!!! Take his Cube Albums or guest features in the those years and take Jay-Z same material and if you know hip hop and lyrics Jay-Z hands down better!!! No disrespect but nobody puts Cube in the Greatest of all time conversation !!
Jay Z was the lil' homie to Jaz-O, Big Daddy Kane, Irv Gotti, Biggie... and was lucky that Big L, Pac, Biggie and Pun all died. DMX was better than him in the early 2Ks, tbh. Cube was his own man from jump. No way in hell would Jay "take over" shit on the East if the aforementioned legends had kept living and X didn't succumb to drugs. #overrated
I mean,,, I don't agree tht Cube was "BETTER THAN" J but thts jst MY preference. But the ONE of the things your jst completely wrong about is "being his own man" part. Cube was signed to Ruthless from the gate. Jay Z STARTED his own label from the gate💯. And Irv Gotti was jst a DJ and didn't pop until after J was already on the move. But as far as saying Cube is better I can live with that,,, it's a preference..👍
@@2tallnegrito7cmn55 Nah,,,Dame hooked up with Biggs and Jay because Dame was doing parties like puff was in the beginning. Dame was the mouth piece that saw the dream.💯 The story is out there RU-vid Google etc. Biggs Jay & Dame all hve said how they got together...
from 1988 - 1995 before the 1st friday movie came out, ice cube was the dopest mc i ever heard. krs-one, rakim, were close on his tail. nas, biggie, pac werent on those guys level yet in 1995. once friday came out and cube got rich, his anger, aggression & hunger were gone.
Don't know bro, Reasonable Doubt was his debut album and is considered one of the best of all time. He was elite out the gate, but yes, having Biggie die definitely help to separate him from the heap in NY. May have turned out different for him without Biggie's death...
Jay speaks about Brooklyn. Just say you don't understand it like I don't know that LA gang shit. Cube is speaking what he knows and Jay is speaking what he knows
I’m from California and disagree with this video . Im a fan of ice cube but nothing in cubes arsenal could touch any of hov’s shit lyrically and I mean that with the upmost respect .Reasonable doubt is a perfect example . “Can I live” alone proves my point . And jay wasn’t even in his prime yet .
Ice Cube really underrated, Amrikkaz Most Wanted one of the greatest album of all time, straight Hiroshimaaaa!!! I dont see any Jay album on AMW or Death Certificate level.
Vlad should interview JJ Fad... I think their interview would be interesting. They can talk about early days of Ruthless Records and NWA... and also how they felt being left out of the "Straight out of Compton" movie.
Not one single jay z album has ever had a real affect on my life.....ice cube, n.w.a however i was banging all that shit......there's always been something about Jay i just cant vibe with....my opinion before people wanna start an argument for no reason
Never understood all the Jay hype either. So many other rappers with better flow and better rhymes. In no particular order, Method man, gza, Snoop, cube, em, kurupt, dub c, biggie, rbx, andre nickatina and on and on haha Also just my opinion.
Scuzzlebutt91 Jay z is an arrogant successful Black man....sorta like Floyd some ppl conditioned to hate him...the ppl they claim better couldn't pack a Waffle House
@@mo2k638 I'm not really sure what color he is has anything to do with how talented he is. I'm also pretty sure all of the people I mentioned could pack a waffle house 😂
@@mo2k638 Floyd is the best technical boxer of all time. People hate him because he hits women and for several other reasons. He brings the hate on himself.
Shakeal Baggett Nah... in 2017 Cube ain't touching Jay. What's Cubes last album? *crickets.. What's Jays last album? 4:44.. platinum in 2 days. I respect Cube but hes not doing that.
Love listening to Eiht's interviews! That Kat gotta smooth voice and he keeps it real. Straight Up Menace to the max! Keep up coming Vlad! Much respect ✌✌🎶🙏

Amerikkkas most wanted was the first album I ever heard that made my mother say "WTF is that!?" Cube set the standard for super lyrical violent oriented street music. He was east and west. Changed the game IMO
Jay's first album was a CLASSIC, thats hard to do. not to take anything away from cube because he did some really memorable shit and played the game smart af. Jay as an artist on the other hand had more hits, longer track record, never got fucked out of his money and stayed consistent until the early 2000s. but opinions are opinions.
Cube was, is, and will always be the goat when it comes to gangster rap! Dude was on another level! I was exposed to "Straight Outta Compton" when I was 5 years old when it came out, and that shit still goes hard! Respect to Cube!
I grew up listening to Cube and he was crazy hot No Vaseline is one of my all time favorites but I’m rocking with Jay. He’d drop a album in the summer and nobody would dare to or get smashed. He held down the summer for 7 years and we all rocked them. He dropped and album during 9/11 and sold over 400k in the first week, that alone shows how hot Jay was
