EXTRA INFORMATION REGARDING 'NO MORE' CONTENT
This video was shot on several locations in Amsterdam.
It features MC Mad Rev adressing several topics, ranging from social equality to his opposition to the black-face traditions of The Netherlands.
MC Mad Rev says "No more BlackFace in Dutch streets!"
In The Netherlands, a black-face tradition is still annually celebrated nation-wide on the 5th of december.
The Dutch claim that this tradition it is not meant to depict black people. But rather a 'servant' (Zwarte Piet) of the holyman (Sinterklaas) who gets his black skin color from climbing down the chimney's of families where he delivers presents to the children of the household he visits.
Children are told this is real and are generally left in this illusion until they grow old enough to know they have been lied to. Upon which the children ask questions and thus the truth is revealed to them.
However.
Alltho the concept of black-face is forgotten among Dutch people and alltho alot of Dutch people wish to believe that their celebration is a childrens celebration that should not be portrayed as being racist, the evidence reveals something different.
The Netherlands is one of the great colonial powers of the European rennaissance.
The "Zwarte Piet" is dressed in traditional, colorful Court-Slave/Court-Servant outfits and sports large golden earrings. A sign of his master's wealth.
Alot of European people do not know about this Dutch celebration and it is with this song that we wished to shed light on alot of relatable issues including this one.
Da Shogunz is officially against the Sinterklaas & Zwarte Piet celebration and furthermore we believe that white-supremacist attitudes and philosophies of black-inferiority are still widely embraced by the Dutch people regardless of the Dutch reputation of being openminded and loving of all races and creeds.
We encourage you to research Sinterklaas and send a letter to the dutch parliament & our king.
