It seems like the guy plays a lot of semantics, and abuses his position in order to intimidate his own instructors. He also seems like a narcissist, who believes that he’s above reproach and believes he’s smarter than he actually is. And you’re absolutely right, a black belt doesn’t mean you have the moral high ground. It also doesn’t speak to his skill level. John Danaher said it himself, there’s black belts and then there’s black belts. A lot of people play basketball, not everyone is Michael Jordan.

I'm an instructor myself, although I'm far from prestigious, but I wouldn't want to train at or be trained by someone who's got the admitted rage issues that this guy does, even from just the texts and communications he himself acknowledges.
This is my comment before the video ends, so far about 40minutes in and I like your investigation and questioning style.. Getting statements and interviews while using scrutiny as a tool for being fair and decisive, I liked it already and will be commenting my views or thoughts once I've watched in full this documentary type video.. @@cameronhall5729 you mean "one-party consent" states, or "right to record" states? They mean two different things, though they stem from some of the same issues. Right to record, to my understanding, is focused on citizens' rights to record government entities, usually LEO or military. One-party consent is where only one party's consent to record a conversation is needed. I believe NY is a one-party state, as are a lot of states.

This was a masterpiece in how to do an exposé on RU-vid. I have been following the story since you first posted about it on IG. Partially to prove that Johnny Depp winning against Amber Heard didn't automatically mean that we were always going to believe the man from now on like the editorial pages were prophesizing, but mostly because this type of manipulative behaviour deserves to be called out wherever it happens regardless of whether that person is a man or woman. I'm sure there's more to the story that Maggie and Jordan aren't saying, but clearly their story has been consistent and backed with proof for most allegations, where his has clearly been riddled with falsehoods. From a personal standpoint, if I don't know you, I am inclined to go by the innocent until proven guilty doctrine and take what you tell me at face-value for the most part unless or until you are proven wrong. But once you lie to me, that flips around and the burden of proof becomes "prove that what you're telling me is true because I can't trust your lying ass". Definitely worth the feature-length watch and good for you for choosing not to monetize. True sign of character right there. Hat's off to you.

Christ that was a heavy watch... I don't want to sound like a fear monger, but I legit think Carl needs to be put on a watch list of some kind. Since the police reports show he's stalked and harassed, so we know "for sure" he does that, and if we were to believe Maggie's story (which I do), he's the type of man who would get a rental car to go undetected, and would follow someone for literally miles on end, he didn't know where, or how long he'd be driving, but he still does. He's one persistent man. If only he could apply that to something constructive. But instead he lashes out, sends degrading and threatening text messages, uses apps to hide his own number, and to get around any block lists to contact the victim, and he arrives at Maggie's parents house, threatening with God knows what intent. And, this is where I go back to "don't want to sound like a fear monger" but, these are traits you hear in a stalker homicide case. These are legitimate red flags, he's the kind of guy where "it only takes one bad day" for everything to end up horribly. But in the interest of fairness (even though I don't believe it myself), maybe "he didn't do it" (despite all the evidence against him) maybe he "isn't the guy we think he is" (Even though we've seen the reports of him stalking. Even though we've heard the accounts from people that he abuses his power and lashes out), maybe we just "need to hear his side of the story..." (Which YOU DID Rob, you ABSOLUTELY gave him the chance to explain himself, to prove himself innocent, but instead he just ghosted you on the offer.) tl;dr "I think this is a homicide waiting to happen unless law enforcement intervenes, or Carl does a complete 180 and changes the way he is as a person." on a lighter note. If you are a grown man saying “you can empathize” with another grown man behaving like this you need to seek help. This isn’t an amber heard situation, messaging someone like this is bullshit. Aside from the rape allegations blaming this woman for another man’s behavior is bullshit in the very least. It’s funny because if this was your mother or sister or daughter you guys would not be singing this tune.
This was a very detailed breakdown and really brought a lot to light. I do not wish anyone have to go through a relationship that was this toxic. Hopefully people take away from this and learn from it. BUTTTT… I just have one critique which is referencing the police report.. you say the words “Stalking and Harassing” are written by the police on the police report therefore it’s fact and the violator is flat out lying.. while in this case it’s mostly true, there are some things I want to point out for the future. First off all I see the report is titled as an “Incident Report” which is different from a crime report. The crimes appear to be misdemeanors based on the fact that the reporting party did not press charges and the violator was not arrested. Second, the words Stalking and Harassing are in this report because these are the crimes being alleged. Allegations aren’t always facts. If you were to call police and say you were assaulted, an ASSAULT report would be made and the verbiage of said crime would be documented in the report. It doesn’t mean the assault occurred for a fact It just means it is being alleged and lends an investigation. Just my 2 cents! Love the channel!
Appreciate the input but a few things they were labeled as what happened and she had the ability to press charges. I never said he was formally charged with those activities. The report labels his actions specifically. It was not alleged. They happened and she had the change to press charges and chose not to. Also, he confesses to harassment and stalking in the report. He admits to going to the home when he was clearly not welcome and admits to using an app to change his phone number to continuously contact her when not welcomed. 🤷🏻♂️ The stalking and harassment happened. Per his own admission

I have to admit that when the video started and described events without taking sides, I was thinking (shame on me) that ok, something that flips the story upside down is coming. But it was just that you really went far and beyond to investigate and report the facts without bias and gave both sides chance to tell their side of the story. I still have hour to watch but this is quality journalism and important story to tell.

That’s not blackmail that’s what you normally do in the court/legal process, everything the lady said on social media will be non-admissible for court and will be thrown out because you don’t publicly make claims/slander and then press/sue

Remember when you were a kid, how you looked at your karate, judo etc. instructors? These teachers are on a different level in regards of being looked up to. Now, it wouldn't surprise anyone if many of them abused their position.

I know it's not cool to judge this kind of thing, but if you're 40 and you're dating an 18 year old... yeah, something ain't right there. Carl needs help. He needs medication and therapy. I hope he gets it. He's obviously a very smart guy and a good writer, but that's not enough to wash away all the receipts Jordan shared.
I'm in no way defending this guy, as his behaviors are very stalkerish as described here. However, in most legal situations (which this could easily be) accused people are instructed to remain silent ( in the US at least, where this occurs) as innocence is presumed and guilt must be proven, not innocence. Lots of folks are sitting in jail because they tried to explain their way to innocence. But again, I reiterate, this guy's actions as described here, are not good.
Whew that was a lot and must have taken a lot of time to put together. Kudo’s to you for your efforts. That being said, there is a couple of points I would like to comment on. Being the suspect of a police report titled after a particular offense doesn’t mean that you committed said offense. It is a report of what was told to the officer and what the officer may or may not have observed. If I called the police and told them my neighbor did things and those actions fit the elements of the offense of Stalking then the officer would generate a report that I told them my neighbor was stalking me. Not replying to a question or refusing to provide a statement is not an admission nor indicator of guilt. I’ve seen a couple of prosecutors make the mistake of insinuating that in court and the judges almost lost their minds and rightfully so. Kudo’s to you for offering him a place to rebut the claims but if he doesn’t then that doesn’t mean he’s hiding anything. It likely means his attorneys told him not to and he is smart for listening to them. I am not defending him, I am defending inalienable rights that we are all born with. I think you have plenty to form an opinion but the police report title, refusing to answer an officers questions or appear on a podcast/channel is not the way to go.
1) thanks for watching the video 2) the officer labeled his activities as stalking and harassment based off of his actions and his confession you can clearly see in the police report 3) him having no answer was never stated as him being guilting. His confession is his admission of guilt 4) never said him not appearing for an interview was anything more than him not showing up. case closed.. lets keep neurology in mind as we prosecute each other when sexual relationships between consensual adults occur.. i think a gym has every right to ban both parties and invite back any that are exonerated, and i think that should be there general practice.. the gym is a high risk SA zone. it should be respected accordingly
Personally, iv trained bjj for 7 years Training with women is a hit and miss all ways drama. That being said, two of my best training partners were female, one high-level judo black belt with wrestling skills as well. Super amazing training partner at explaining take downs. The outer was a bjj brown belt with wrestling skills she was always keen to train an amazing lady . All most all the other women iv trained with all ways bring drama or some weird dynamic to be the center of attention or make everything about themselves and just outright right ruin training . I will never date any woman from the gyms i train at EVER. I am at the gym to train and up my skills and meet good training partners. I do not enjoy the head instructor/trainer's wife in gyms. All ways, drama . One gym i trained at the instructor's wife asked me one day before training. Do i like any of the women who train in the gym. I said no im here to train and get better. Her response was very strange, as in say something along the lines of (Oh well, you won't get any dates from any of the women here then) It's very weird and time wasting . Just my experience.
Be simpler if people had your approach but don't the majority see the gym as a community or family and end up in some kind of bjj cult instead of paying a gym to learn a skill and then have their friends family and life elsewhere.

I had some female gym training partners tell me that they have encountered some males on open mat days that were Kind of creepy sending Instagram messages of some sort. I didn't ask about details.

I know you state that it’s up to us to decide if we should attend this school. But I live near the area and I really am split on whether or not to enroll into their school. Based on their reviews, the schools itself does seem legit and reputable(in terms of learning BJJ). However, will it make me inherently a bad person for being potentially taught by this instructor?
however there is a slight correction to be made... just because a police officer calls it "stalking" doesn't make it so, police do not pass guilt, the court/judge does. The asshole is trying to impose "stalking" as being used solely in the legal/criminal term and refusing the other uses of the word, so in that sense of the word, no, he has not been convicted of the crime, stalking at that point in time.
This video is why 5 years ago I stopped dating all together. Honestly, people suck on all sides ( there are bad guys and girls everywhere) and it's not worth it anymore. I'd rather die alone than ever deal with ANY drama ever again. I'm just too old to deal with it

Wow, really cool. I liked all of your reporting. You seemed to consider the evidence more than anything else. Maggie seemed credible and had evidence to prove her statements. Carl’s claim that he had picture and video evidence but didn’t want to expose Maggie, uhm that dog won’t hunt. Jordan seemed to clearly not be stalked. Her claims that other owner of the school and the instructor at Carl’s school actions were motivated by her. I didn’t think that was cool. It’s very important to report wrong doing. But it’s equally important to not be wrong. Maybe these dudes didn’t know for sure but wanted to protect jordan to be safe. I put it on par with picture and video evidence that Carl said he had. Anyway, I really enjoyed this segment. I thought McDojolife was just a bunch of short videos about kungfu guys doing magic. Pleasantly surprised.
Ugh what a POS. I went through a crappy situation last year with a violent creep. I put a restraining order on him so he did it to me claiming I was “stalking” him, which was a complete lie (he worked at the grocery store that I shopped at and volunteered at the VFW that I used to go to, but got 86ed from because of him. The VFW since has apologized to me). Long story short, he lied to the judge about what he did to me and the judge believed him. I’m glad Maggie finally got away from that horrible man. Thank you for exposing that a-hole.

Not defending what Carl actually did, cause he most likely is guilty of all of this but when he claims to have never stalked her and you say that's a lie because of the police report that isn't necessarily true. That is a charge, not a conviction, he can still not be guilty of that simply based on only the police report. I can go and get a police report written up right now stating someone was stalking and harassing me, doesn't mean that if they deny it that they are lying. That being said, what Maggie is describing and what the evidence from the text messages show is stalking, so I would stick to saying that and not using a police report as evidence of lying about stalking.
The police literally labeled the behavior as stalking and harassment. She chose not to press charges. It was still stalking and harassment. That would be like saying if I broke the law but no one say me do it then I didn’t break the law. The law still got broken even if no one saw it. Same here. They labeled his actions. She had a choice and chose not to. It is still clearly defined in the police report. Now he can say he wasn’t charged that would be different but that’s not what he is saying.
@@McDojoLife cops don't always know what to call things, guys pissing on school grounds drunk can get charged with indecent exposure. I'm not saying that he wasn't stalking her, based on what is described I agree but the police report wouldn't be able to be used in a court case as the sole evidence and be able to convict off of. That would be the initiation of the proceedings to try and prove the stalking and harassment. Again, not saying it didn't happen, I am saying you're declaration that that makes it a FACT is false. I don't want this whole thing to be hampered down by a misunderstanding of how police reports work. Police filling out a report about something happening doesn't make it a fact. I do believe Maggie's story based on the crazy texts Carl clearly sent her and I also believe that what he did was stalking but the police report doesn't prove that he was lying on it's own. That's the only point I'm making.

Never said he wrote it. I said it was a statement he sent me. If it was a lawfirm that wrote it they definitely didn’t do a good job as they clearly have written things that simply aren’t true.
I am related to the owner of Renzo Gracie Middletown and she is absolutely right!!. The owner of whom I'm related to, got manipulated and lied to about her and her fiance. He did kicked them out because of outside pressure from outside sources and lies. once the truth came out, the owner reached out and apologized as soon we found the stalker was liiying. We told them they were welcomed back.The stalker has trashed our academy and is known as a bad person all around the area.
