What beautiful sounding engines holy cow

So much power. It started rolling so easily at idle power

seeing the IAE V2500 from there would be very interesting to just imagine had MD stayed independent into the 21st century and made smarter business decisions by making a twin jet MD-11 alongside the MD-95/717, offer orders for the smaller proposed -100 as a replacement for Turbo props and not have announced the details of the deal with ValuJet or AirTran which ever it was. Like what if MD would've figured out a way to put say, Pratt and Whitney PW1000Gs on the DC-9's frame? lol They'd likely have to change the landing gear but that particular engine doesn't seem like it weighs that much to be of much concern for balance and maybe an updated wing But oh well that is a dream that'd never come true lol

You could hear more noise from the engine on the MD90 than an A320
