McFarlane DC Multiverse AZRAEL Batman: Curse of the White Knight Action Figure Review 

Wow a positive review of Mcfarlane from anthony. The figure looks so aesthetically pleasing. Kinda looks like a storm collectibles but for almost half the price!

I'm so glad this was my first McFarlane DC figure because I'm just so in love with it, lol. This guy is definitely one of my favorite figures released this year so far. Joints are ugly and I'd like some extra fist hands to completely overlook its faults, but I am happy as it is because I can give him Marvel Select's Deadpool guns and he looks even better. I don't know, man, I feel like I can appreciate better when a figure is actually good thanks to your reviews and I'm really satisfied with this one. I hope Todd keeps making stuff like this because then I'd rather give him my money instead of Hasbro.

Who ever said they "McFarlane Toys needs time" has a butt cheeks for brains. The first batch is very highly disappointing till that Hell Bat and Spawn came out. They can do better. Hate it when they dont. If they keep the same effort in all the figures not just spawn, it would be great.

I'm a Marvel guy, and am not even big on figure-collecting, but I would absolutely buy and display this figure.

Well, you're not harsh for the first wave. They just deserve it. Also is it that difficult for them to make double jointed elbow

I buy a lot of figures, usually just to have nice figures of my favorite characters. They do the job, for the most part. This is the first figure in a long time that made my jaw drop and impress me. For $20, he's big, sturdy, yet crammed full of detail, great variety of materials, excellent paint and wash, yet engineered in a way that he's still incredibly poseable for his size. The way they did his cape tassels was great; the way they engineered his head with separate neck, head, and hood articulation has spoiled me on any future hooded figure; the way even the fire effect on the sword captures light and nearly glows hot... I've been VERY critical of McFarlane's earliest DC line attempts, but this feels like a figure worth twice the asking price. I've paid far more for far inferior figures before. For all that this guy has to offer, it feels like I got a great deal and I'm hoping they carry this qualify forward into future releases.

I actually like the stands. They don't look great, but neither to my larger, clear NECA ones. They work fine for me and as long as the peghole is snug, you can achieve some pretty dynamic poses with them. Plus i'm never gonna tell a company not to include a stand.

This Azrael looks like a Spawn character.

I have to say, that Azrael is looking good. Heck I might even consider buying it just to accompany my MK11 Spawn

Prime example on that McFarlane should actually use for articulation with the rest of their figures. It's great on the range and half the price. Idk why he half asses some figures acting like he doesn't know articulation when he haves years worth of doing it even if he likes preposed statues. He needs to stop being stubborn just like with the Kickstarter spawn figures on refusing to fix that twisted torso or add the ab movement. Which if you seen the last update he did improve the ankle pivot/rocker and added boot even a thigh cut so I don't understand his logic. I hope there are sculptures telling him how figures should function cuz this Azrael figure along with their Batman white knight figure haves great range and it's nice to see the new releases applying this articulation scheme over how bad the first wave of DC Multiverse figures were being all over the place.

Ah damn. This is a sign I watch *Anthony'sCustoms* too often. I bought this figure last week.. believing it would actually pass his inspection 😄😄😄😄

It seems like McFarlane does well with toys that have a lot of detail and are bulky like this, Hellbat and Unchained. The details on the WW84 arent bad as well. But when it comes to simple designs like animated Supes and Bats, McFarlane just drops the ball.

I was waiting for Anthony's review on this cool figure and here it is!The amount of details on this awesome figure at around $25 shows Hasbro too can give us such figures at this price range. McFarlane releasing figures like this Azrael, Raiden and Spawn shows they have the capability to come up with actual praiseworthy figures and his reviews are the actual proof of it. Great review! Eagerly waiting for what the next review will be on.

Just bought this guy. Thank you for keeping me from buying any of the other bad McFlane figures. (picked up the first Batman before reviews... Big mistake in my book)

My question is, how do you manage to fuck up a relatively simple character like Superman, but manage to nail a character with a more complex design like Azrael or Hell Bat?

Thanks for being so vocal about your opinions and gripes, Anthony. Like you said, it's because of feedback, positive and negative, that the line is improving! I've said this before but anyone wondering what the line is planning on fixing, watch any of Tye Butler's interviews! He's a DC Content Expert on the line and he's taking in suggestions and feedback, and you can already see the improvements on the SDCC reveals for the fall. Excited for the line to continue to get better and provide great figs for a good price

I paint the logos onto the stands and use them for the figures. They stand well enough on their own, but I like what that adds to it. Since McFarlane makes the same 3 characters so often, having logos in/on the stands would be something they could consider doing to add a little something to their figures.

I like his upper part but i don't really like his legs. I wish it had more armor

It's certainly a modernized design, but I'm actually one of the few people who really enjoyed this edgy character back when it first showed up in a miniseries & then replaced Bruce as a way edgier Batman. The fact that he looks like a fantasy knight helps a ton. I hope Mc Farlane continues this trend of releasing great sculpts of relatively unknown characters; those are usually the ones I enjoy the most in DC.

I love the figure. Also the head moves separate from the hood do well it is hardly noticeable.

Sheesh and this looks even better. I've worked on a ton of Batman and Azrael stories, so I think I'll have get these two. Agree, they have to think of a better solution for the elbows, but at least it fits Sean's aesthetics.

This figure has to be my favorite from McFarlane especially since its Jean Paul valley Azrael

Just bought this one, keeping my eye on the Azrael Batman Armor one that just went up for preorder. Hopefully you'll do a review on that one, it has the same sword as this one so hopefully that fire effect will be interchangeable.

Have you reviewed the Doom Marauder? Was hoping to hear it from you before buying. W/r/t Azrael, my only grip is that his knee joints are weak (also missing a few ratchets) so posing him on bending knee doesn't hold at times, especially in conjunction with the toe articulation.

I agree that the stands are a bit too small for heavier 7 inch figures. However, my PS4 Spider-Man figure started losing balance, and the stand from this guy went right to that one.

They just need to work on the upper thighs and standardize double joints. I'd like them to experiment more with flexible material. That would hide the leg splits and some of the torso articulation. I'd love to see a proper Green Arrow(and a better Arrow) where the hood comes down and doesn't mess with the ability to move the head. Arrow - Was terrible I wish I had just returned him. Superman - I thought was fine but they can do better. Doesn't look like that will be happening this year. The Armored forms I thought were solid but the wings seems like "We ran out of money". Batman......just pales in comparison to the later figures and especially the upcoming ones if Flashpoint Batman is as good as it looks.

This thing looks phenominal! Don't you just love when a company proves they actually can make good figures if they try? And there's still people arguing that "it's made out of plastic, it's not possible to make it look like a comic art," lol

Personally would've liked more elbow range, but i own the marauder, so 🤣, 90°s it is.

I'm still hoping for a decent thigh swivel from them. What they have going on right now isn't horrible, but it's also not really functional. But an actual thigh swivel would make Mcfarlane figures top tier! Especially on a figure like spawn or this one.

Todd McFarlane is doing a amazing job going from zero articulated figures to super articulated with tons of details. I'm finding myself buying more of Todd's stuff than neca and marvel legend figures lately.

Wow. This figure looks gorgeous! I got the Hellbat Armor Batman and love it, but my other two McFarlane figures have some serious issues lol you know the Doom Slayer al too well. But I bought a couple McFarlane Jareth the Goblin Kings for myself and a friend, and mine has a factory defect in its right ankle making it unable to stand up lol

I can't help but think the legs look kind of unfinished or something. They look so bland compared to all of the stuff going on with the upper body and the arms. I know this is how the character looks and all, but I personally think the legs could have benefited from some gold armor plates like the arms have...

He can also move his face without moving the hood. So if you want the head turned without the hood moving.. You can do that.

We've been getting a good little streak of good figures.

I bought 3 figures on wave one and had to cancel the other ones because they were horrible. I skipped this wave because of it and now I regret it because this Azrael and White Knight Batman looked on point.

Azreal is on my list on McFarlane figures to get. Along with most of the next few waves of stuff cause they look so good and they’re a pretty good price in Canada (Amazon has them for $25, like that’s so much better of a price than almost all Hasbro figures). The only figure from the first wave I have is the unchained Superman which is pretty good but could be better. Will eventually get the hellbat

Really nice figure. This line is a little all over the place in scale. Night wing is huge as is batgirl. And this guy is smaller than them.

Well you saved me from getting bad Mcfarlane figures and now I'm tempted to get this, I'll have to decide between this and sh figuarts Ginyu to get first

McFarlane baffles me. Like they put out some really bad stuff... then turn around and give us 2 best figures of the year(Spawn, Azrael). They are capable of being the best North American company but always do something super dumb. Pretty sure Todd is a coke-head.
