I have all three of these and I love that they all felt different enough from each other that I felt they constituted multiple buys. My favorite is probably the regular red version just for the head sculpt but the paint apps on the the designer edition is very nice. The only complaint I have is that they are very hard to stand up.
An absolute must for me! If I'm not mistaken this figure was released a long time ago and I think it was like an 18" figure. I could be mistaken. I've collected mcfarlane since I was a child lol great review my guy! Thank you for sharing keep them coming!
I have all three versions of the Mandarin Spawn and I prefer both of the basic versions and as much as I want to support the deluxe versions going forward I don't think what I received was worth the extra $25 dollars, plus after I preordered it Gamestop dropped the price to $39.99 but still charged me $44.99 when they shipped it. Also I tried to cancel my order multiple times but apparently it never went through. I know I could have taken it back to a Gamestop store but I have a hard time returning sweet plastic once I've got it in hand. Long story short if Todd wants me to continue to support these deluxe releases then he's got a long ways to go to make me feel it was worth the extra money. lastly being that it is deluxe he should have made the weapons out of a harder plastic. I know there could be some restrictions if they are going to be stocked in the toy aisle but if you are going to market this version to collectors I'd prefer a harder plastic, especially for the double bladed sword as I'm sure that if I put it in any position but straight up and down it will not hold its own weight and will quickly start to droop over. Todd should talk to the guys at Four Horsemen Studios as the weapons for their Mythic Legions line are hard plastic and work great.
I returned mine to GameStop, it just isn’t worth it like you said. Hopefully they’ll try this approach with other characters and come up with something more suitable for the price point.
I have the two previous ones £20 each £45 for this 3rd one even though I love the design is way too much for an extra weapon and shield despite how cool they are
@@JoshFromBefore People are convinced she’s designed as Angela and the timing with the Spawn line makes me think ole Todd is getting around copyright lol
I would have bought this, if it at least had a nice dark wash all over it, to give it that dark, evil, gritty McFarlane style look. Its much too clean for my taste, so I skipped it. I did buy the other gold variant prior to this one, and that one was kind of a let down. Unfortunately, it will have be custom painted, in order to give the sculpt some justice. This deluxe edition looks too machined (digitally clean sculpt). I was hoping for a dark, evil looking Mandarin.
I have about 35 McFarlane reviews posted, and zero reviews from other brands. This has been a McFarlane fanboy channel from the jump so I'm not sure how there could be any confusion about that.
@@mangoman1073 I use them for customs, and I pick up a lot of them that have good plainclothes civilian bodies. When they really care and put in the love, Legends can be totally amazing, fantastic figures. But they can also be low effort assembly line crap.
