Why don't we have Brainiac, Parasite, Cyborg Superman, Val Zod, Eradicator, Metallo, and Steel? For a design like this, I really want Mcfarlane Toys to stop gluing certain things like the capes to the body. Clearly those shoulder pads need to be on hinges. I can't decide if the forearms are too long with tiny hands or if they shows how thick the armor is as it's like a space suit vs a skin tight battle armor. I like to see the more skin tight suits he's used just because I like the MOS esque black suit approach. For a long time Zod wasn't a main opponent. He's just a very famous minor bad guy elevated due to Superman 2. He's never been in an animation due to rights issues. He's did pop up in Smallville/Krypton(gone too soon)/Supergirl/MOS but in radically different ways. Comics wise we had a ton of Zod's but didn't get a consistent one until One Year Later and then new52.
My General Zod Figure looks like his Right foot is a odd shape. Im not sure if it's just the way it's molded or if the factory put 2 left feet on both legs. Does your Figures right leg look like the foots shaped weird or a left foot on it ???
I have 1 nit pick with this figure that sticks out to me and 1 great aspect that sticks out as well: 1st his arm/forearms are too long. Is it just me? It makes him look like he has gorilla arms and makes his hands look smaller than they are. 2. I love the way McFarlane hid the ball joints without hindering the range of movement. All in all, I wasn't planning on picking him up ... but after this review, and others, I've changed my mind. Gread job Brad :)
Remove the head from this figure and place it on the McFarlane Dread Pirate Roberts from the Princess Bride, and you have a pretty good 70's Christopher Reeves General Zod from Superman the Movie and Superman II.
it drives me crazy that they gave him Terence Stamp's bored, aloof, inert facial expression, but the comic's rage-fueled, bestial everything-else. i'd have loved a Stamp Zod!
Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't notice the Terrence Stamp resemblance. I'm copping him off of Amazon later today. If I discover a suitable head swap, angry face alternative I'll hit you back.
