I really like how they made the riddler into a zodiac killer inspired villain, it works really well

now we do know that this accessory is the last piece of the puzzle

I remember being skeptical when The Riddler was confirmed as the villain but after they announced both Paul as the character and the design was revealed I was fully on board, the fact that they’ve gone for the visual direction of the Zodiac Killer is freaking perfect because it COULD actually happen and that’s what makes this version so much more unnerving and unsettling which organically enhances both Paul’s performance and how people will watch him

While I am one of those people who likes the traditional look of the Riddler, I think we are in for a cool reinvention of the character based on real-life killers. I'm sure that, much in the same way Ledger defined Joker for many people, Paul Dano is going to do the same for the Riddler. BTW, thought the answer was a name, but good job on the folks in the comments who I saw got it correct!

After seeing the movie this design is scary on screen and how he cling wrap his head to leave no trace of DNA is wild

Not sure if I have a favourite live-action comic book villain design, but two that stand out are the MCU Vulture for how they changed and updated a design I never liked into something more interesting and threatening, and the MCU Mysterio for how accurate that design was, and seeing as in the comic context it was always for show and never a practical costume it made sense to keep it the same in live-action. We finally got a TV spot today where we see Riddler picking up the carpet tucker, and seeing as in the very first trailer we see him swing something, it's safe to assume it's used to kill that first victim who he tapes up. Ironic as I feel they included it with the figure over the tape given a carpet tucker being less associated with violence than tape is, despite it likely being an actual murder weapon in the film. I love this look for the Riddler, in fact he's what I'm most excited about in the film and the design is what sold me. The animated series I felt did a good job at making the character a bit more serious and threatening, but his design even when it's a green suit and hat is hard to make menacing, so I feel that for the first serious take on the character in film it was smart to give him a redesign that makes him scarier. Plus the two previous live-action Riddler designs were extremely comic accurate in their own ways, so I feel they've earned the change. Personally I feel that Riddler isn't a character who's dependent on his design, the likes of Joker, Penguin, Killer Croc, Scarecrow and especially Two-Face are instances where their designs are integral, you can't describe their characters to someone without mentioning their designs. Riddler is more dependent on his schemes and the scenarios he puts Batman in and his superiority complex that comes along with that, the design doesn't factor into who he is so changing it is fine with me.

This figure made me laugh as a first impression. I wasn't impressed. He looked like a hobo. However after seeing more information and character development I became curious, then oddly fascinated with what he knows and where it's going. As I saw more of him the point of this suit became clearer. Like the serial killer movie Se7en, the Riddler is insanely smart and insane as well. This movie has so much happening. The Mob, the Riddler, murder, and a epic backstory that is going to be epic I think. I was WRONG about this character and this figure. It's great for the movie and a unique looking figure.

Someone removed the arms and took off the jacket on another channel. It’s pretty basic under but has articulation. It could be good to use for a custom figure. I may not get this until after seeing the movie. I’m not a big fan of this design. I liked Jack Nicholson Joker the most.

The lack of accessories leads me to believe that there will be a follow up series.

I don't see really anyone else mentioning him, as he's not exactly a CLASSIC character, but Red Mist in Kick-Ass is definitely my favorite design. He looks like a ninja in the comics, and in the movie, he looks like a really badass villain. Not so much in Kick-Ass 2, but.. we don't talk about that one.

I'm not a fan of Riddler's design, but that's just my own personal opinion. Obviously, I wasn't expecting a classic design for the character, but perhaps, something similar to how Riddler appeared in Batman Arkham Asylum. I'm not keen on the figure either. McFarlane Toys have been underwhelming when it comes to their recent DC figures and Riddler is no different. There are almost no accessories, a lack of added paint and only a pair of hands, neither of which can hold the weapon properly. I'm really glad that I skipped out on McFarlane Toys's recent releases. Unfortunately, the inconsistencies from figure to figure are a result of the cost cutting measures that have been on display as of late on their part. At least, the video review was enjoyable as always. Thanks once again Spot for the continued hard work. Keep it up!

So he's not the traditional version of the riddler? Lol someone needs to count the times thats mentioned in this video. Love this figure and the idea hes based on the Zodiac killer is a definite selling point to me.

My favorite villain is the joker. and my favorite design of his is Joaquin Phoenix's, I wish DC Multiverse would make a figure of that joker.

My favorite live-action comic villain design is Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin! He was my introduction to the character back in '02, so I'm a bit biased. The helmet and armored suit just looks way better than the rubbery mask and tights look.

Mcfarlane is just so inconsistent with this DC line. Comic book art, movie images, toy picture, peg hole in only one figure from this entire line. Side eyes!!!! Uuughh

Spot, I like the idea of this Riddler I just want to see him in action to see if I can buy into his radical redesign. Folks who know have stated his tool is a carpet tuck tool. The relevance of it as an accessory has yet to be seen. Tape will regulated if the idea of it as a weapon catches on, imagine getting checked for ID for buying tape at your local store 😉 I always like the Jack Nickalson Joker as a movie villain. Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman was memorable also. Thank you for the review ✌️

Hmmm he IS a serial killer, from personal experience I admit an ice pick is a scary weapon for any serial killer. He'll use it to kill people in the movie probably. Also I LOVE Riddler's new serial killer/terrorist look. It's perfect.

My favorite is Heath Ledger's Joker. I would LOVE a Mcfarlane Heath Ledger.

I think the reason Todd keeps giving us all these trigger fingers is so that if the band ever does get lifted he can start you know sending out guns or you can just get guns in the aftermarket and put them in the hands like they're supposed to be
