I think the look is great when it comes to the sculpting work. It just needs a repaint. Something more like a light blue with a bit of a white hue, Black, gray and silver. Something simliar to the Arkham City color scheme or the old Mr Freeze custom that Anthony made. That figure was awesome btw

The Mafex style arm joints are a nice clean touch. He desperately needed more paint or a wash. I enjoy the Arkham city look. Hopefully they re release this as a gold label with more paint.

I love the general design scheme of Mr. Freeze overall, from the Adam West Batman version to the B:TAS look and even Batman and Robin's suit is sweet, maybe a little overdesigned but it is what it is. I think some silvers would help this guy pop more, you have to think of what's insulating that suit to keep it at the temperature Freeze needs to maintain. I don't think it's THAT bad of a paint job, but when I get this one I'll be doing a little TLC to make it shine. Some more blues on the effect piece in his gun would be killer too

Anthony, wow I too really wanted to like this figure more then I do. You hit all the pros and cons. The dome limiting the head vs the better body proportions. The great sculpt vs the weird paint choices. The good trigger hand vs card art misrepresenting the figure. Mr Freeze is one of my favorites in Batmans rogues gallery I was rooting for a better release. The Batman the animated series is the coolest, I also do like the classic version. Great review ✌️

Not a bad figure my only grapes are I wish they went for the darker colored suit instead of the white, and that the beam effect was a removable piece instead

The color scheme is awful why would they choose grey and white over blue and silver? A custom paint job would do wonders for this figure

Best freeze look for me is either the Animated Series look or the Arkham City one. Both are fun in their own way

Aside from the freeze suit looking too astronaut-y, the sculpt is quite nice. Yes, the lack of paint is egregious, the grey coloured parts are hideous, and the plastic legs look rather chintzy; if for nothing else, at least the bare parts devoid of paint make for a nice blank canvas. After all, the sculpt is already there. For patient collectors, might I suggest getting creative with Mister Freeze appropriate colours; blues, whites, blacks, etc…. As far as my favourite Mister Freeze look, I, too, must say The Animated Series - with the Arkham City design being a very close second. Either look works. Enjoyed the review, mate! Mcfarlane should really include more paint as those sculpts are waisted if you can't see them. Although I still applaud them for not reusing the Blight figure mold

My favorite look of Mister Freeze is his Batman: The Animated Series appearances. That retro look Freeze is a close second. I thought the days of McFarlane teasing customers with chase variants and the like were gone, but here we are. When I collected his NFL line of figures (i.e. statues) I tired quickly from the variants which were next to impossible to find and when you did, pony up to pay five to ten times the MSRP. Good luck, I hope you find the other Freeze, I know I'll grab one if I find it!

I'm able to move his head completely side to side inside the dome. The only positions I can't get his head in the dome is looking up, big head tilts, and twisting his head backwards

As much as I sh!t on Mcfarlane, I might get this when it hits clearance and customize him. Sure it's pretty much a blank canvas figure (I know it has some paint, but its lacking), but at least the sculpt is pretty decent. Favorite costume- BTAS

It would've been cool if that blast effect on the barrel of the gun was removable.

I have hope for this figure. I got one on release. I might want to get into dry brushing or something to give the white areas some detail. I don't know. He's an open canvas. Haha

Arkham Origins Cold, Cold Heart is my favorite look for Freeze

I’ve come to realize that if they just made simpler sculpts the unpainted parts wouldn’t look so bad. Like if they sculpt so much detail and just cast it in one color it looks cheap, but smoother armor solid color looks intentional

My fav mr freeze look is actually the Lego Batman Movie one, I love all the blues in that design. And that one also has the blue head like he has here, if they made the colour scheme of the Lego Batman one on this. Would buy it in an instant.

I really like the costume they used on the trading card. Why didn’t they use that?

7:36 One of the few times I don't totally agree with you on this one. The articulation is far better than the majority of DC figures they've made which shows slow, but evident improvement. I know you tend to be objective as possible but I think with articulation you could lightly consider the character and how they are portrayed to move. Like Mr. Freeze being able to do a full split should not be as important as a more agile character, like Spider-Man, having that range. He can be posed stomping around holding his gun with both hands perfectly and the torso articulation is as far as he'd be able to move in an actual suit like that. The mafex style elbows added two more points of articulation that I think you missed, at the upper elbow, that allow him to hold his gun better without having to use the hindered swivel at the upper bicep/shoulder. Other than that, I agree with you on the color scheme and lack of detail work. If it weren't for the color scheme this guy would be a 10/10 for me. He's also in scale, being slightly taller than most hero characters.

Mr Freeze's articulation is Peak McFarlane apparently, atleast at the torso.

Yeah, I did not understand the card. That's a good point about the dome. I think putting extra details on without painting them was a mistake but I still like the figure. Like I said, we haven't had many great ones of Freeze.

Detective comics #1027 is this look but the colors are different. Same general design though.

I, like many others like the Animated Series Mr. Freeze, he's my guy but I think the DC Colletibles Mr. Freeze from that show turned out terribly, due to the arms. I like this one. I did not think I would be buying a Mr. Freeze from this line but I liked the look of it straight away. I don't think that we have had that many good Mr. Freeze figures.

Definitely needs a paint job and the gold label one with the classic paint scheme is going for $80 on ebay. I'd rather burn the $80 and use it to light a cigar then pay the scalpers.

They basically made him a storm trooper with those colors. Could be a fun figure to customize, though.

Omg a trigger finger hand that finally has a proper use. I do like the sculpt of this, but yeah the colors are not doing it any favors. Best design for Mr Freeze is totally Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The animated series is the best besides the arkham look. P.S the lego minifigure can pose it's head better.

This figure could've been good if they just gave it some paint. But with how the plastic colours look, the lack of paint and how mismatched the plastics even look, it comes off borderline like a prototype.

At this point, I think I'm done collecting mcfarlane.

BTAS is my favorite look for Freeze .

Out of the box this figure is very bleh, but it seems like it could look pretty good with a minimal amount of work.

Every one of their cards is a major mismatch to the figure, Beast Boy being the exception. Scarecrow is the worst since the figure they did is hardly recognizable at first glance. And the card is the new 52 design which couldn’t possibly look any more different from the figure.

Dunno if it's my device but there are some angles where it's a bit hard to detail the colours in his chest during the video Moon boots haha yeah, he wanted to look cool but they chose to make him look plain, quite sad
