I like this figure a lot. I have the first variant and it came out very nice, I might get this one too though, maybe because it'll look nice in my figure collection or it'll be a cool accessory for a Deku costume for Comic-Con or Halloween. I love your reviews BTW!
For the price point I love what McFarlane has done with the line, especially the noticeable improvements on wave 2s releases. This figure is great for customs using McFarlanes multiverse superman releases(standard and armored are both great fodder pieces to make ideal versions of multiple superman figures (from classic, to new 52, majority of the reign of the supermen all the way to perfect kingdom come customs). This particular buck is also good for batman using his multiverse releases since his standard version skipped leg day. Customs aside its still just a good overall figure.ive had no issues with any qc issues with any of the academia figures. I don't even know anything about the property, I just love the character designs and the overall execution for figures that are under 20 dollars and the fact that all of his newer releases share enough similarities in their construction though some feel like better materials(like the plastics) were used in their construction compared to the other lines. The quality improvements may not seem very noticeable to most from wave one to wave two of this line but it can even be seen in the way the contents in the package are house. Things like accessories aren't/don't need to be taped down including the bases that are now sealed in plastic instead of being taped to the back with scotch tape. Just like there's a huge jump from the initial mortal kombat figures like scorpion and subzero to the newest releases like spawn. It gives me hope for lines like his dc figures that they will progressively get better. The only downside is the most iconic, flagship characters are getting used/sold first as the test figures to see what needs to be changed to ensure success launching the line but they're the characters we would all want the absolute best versions of and they'll probably never get revisited, at least those versions of the characters. Forgot to mention one punch man being another great release from McFarlane for customs, being great for versions of the "super sons"(different robins and superboys). Fortnight is also great for rogues and overall fodder pieces(McFarlanes for use with any of his newer lines, and jazwares for use with marvel legends and Mattel dc stuff)
hey there! thanks for the input! ya they are def. using the more iconic characters in their first waves and also as their tests ones.. but they need to to get ppl to buy them right away! gotta have good sales off the bat. But im sure they will revisit and fix anything they need to adjust. Thanks for the input on customizing and kitbashing figures. Sounds like you're having a great time lol.
