The iconic microphone that Al Green used to record his classics is also called the "No. 9".
From Al Green to Bruno Mars have recorded here, one of the oldest music recording studios known for the engineer Willie Mitchell who became involved with Royal Studios in the early ‘60s. His son, Lawrence “Boo” Mitchell inherited his talent: he’s a GRAMMY award-winning for his engineering work on "Uptown Funk" and co-owner of the studio. His son, Daniel Mitchell, follows the same path. The Michell’s legacy stays alive!
