I use "One shot 199L" black.. It's sign painter's paint, a much better choose for glass.. Believe it or not, McIntosh still has replacement glass face's for lot's of their older models.. Call their part's department..
I did called them for the 2105 and think it’s a good buy if the glass is cracked, otherwise I feel that the lettering and color aren’t as intense as original glass plates
Seems easy, but I’d think that a mark in the middle of the glass may be harder to conceal with a hard line of paint than a soft, lightly buffed area. Perhaps baking soda could do it safely, I dunno. Still not sure I’d wanna tackle this myself. ✌️
This oil based paint is an excellent solution because it acts as a sealer also, preventing other areas from lifting. McIntosh utilized this black foil on the glass as part of the silk screening process.
