McLaren 570S Spider - First Drive 

I say go with an Aston or something else that really has the proper roadster feel. You already are getting another Mclaren and I think you'd regret having two of the same brand when you could diversify and have totally different beasts to satisfy different needs. Just my thoughts though!

For what it's worth, I saw a McLaren on the road in Taipei, Taiwan recently whilst on holiday (the rear looked like a 570s).Also a Maserati and a modern Rolls outside of my hotel and a few high-end sports cars. No superbikes, but lots of scooters.

James the UK has the biggest convertible market in Europe. You don't need 30C sunshine to get the roof down, you can even drive it in the rain without getting wet if you want. Cant beat open top motoring and with McLarens there is no compromise due to the carbon tub. 650S spider is still the one to have though- ballistically quick and fantastic value for money used

Those coments about the CGT are so annoying, we all love that car a hell of a lot but it is not an easy car to drive as much as he wants , because running cost and depreciation , I don´t know what James needs in a convertible but I think he should go for something more "usable", by the way amazing video as always James! PD: Don´t hate on me I love the Carrera GT so much.

You James might be one of the few car youtubers who actually gives a real feedback about how the car feels, drives, it's philosophy that it almost makes a lot of us not want to watch other youtubers, because they aren't saying anything useful really when testing the cars.. Keep doing your best, You might end up on Top Gear replacing Matt LeBlanc lol

I'd say an Aston Martin Volante of some kind would be amazing. We know from Tim that the buying experience from Aston is second to none. Great video again, I really need to come up with a better way if saying that. I'll go masticate on a thesaurus.

Would like to ask a question plse James.. have you (or Seb, Tim, Paul) ever had a speeding ticket? You know, like you floor it then pop round the corner comes the Bill?? No?

You seem to forget the R8 (were you keep compairing it to) has AWD wich weighs alot more compare to a RWD. That is not really fair to the Audi R8. The rest was a very good review. Of a briliant car!

Roof down in 8 seconds? Not bad. How long does it take to lift the front of the car? Is there any improvement from 650S or 675LT, coz that was painfully slow.

If you're serious about getting a convertible . Then I would have a serious look at the new Mercedes AMG GT-C. It looks awesome, sounds menacing and it still keeps the performance with a nice cockpit.

No With a 720s on the fleet,and seeing how little compromised the mclarens chassis is as a result of losing the roof,you will always comment how it could easily handle the 720s engine.

Constructive criticism, you kind of lost me on the narrative, same for some of the others. I haven't watched for a while now and stopped in on this video to check out the McLaren, I couldn't sit through it, I got bored and had to move on. Please show some more action, excitement. All in all. Let's talk more fun. Your video skills are phenomenal. Stick with that and add some more throughout. PS I especially liked the timing with the music when you put the top down on the spider, great work!

Actually really found Seb's input valuable in comparing coming from his lotus to the 570S compared to the P1 LM...especially since how many people are really going to be able to cruise around in a P1 and then step down to a 570S. great vid as always
