Whoo! Glasgow MCM was my first con, and it was literally the best day of my life. Just the thrill of seeing so many people with the same interests as myself, all the cosplays... something that is rather scorned upon by my fellow classmates at home. Can't wait until next year!
A nice afternoon out at Glasgow's MCM Scotland Comic Con. Sept 2013. A reported 20,000 attended but did mean a 3 hour wait in the queue. Good to see Bruce Boxleitner / John Sheridan and Mira Furlan / Delen there from Bablyon 5. Already looking forward to #comiccon 2014 up here on the 6th and 7th of September in the #SECC .
went today and it was empty, just walked straight in and bought tickets, it was rather strange that out of the 4 tickets desks only 1 accepted cards, needless to say the 3 cash desks the staff were just sitting there twiddling their thumbs.
MCM - 20,000 visitors and more expensive at the door than Braehead Collectormania. This year, Collectormania has guests from Star Trek, Star Wars, Game Of Thrones, Dr. Who, The A Team and Terminator. MCM has co stars from Red Dwarf and some video game voice actors. Both events have excellent cosplay, although Braehead has a better. dedicated show. Brahead concentrates more on collectibles as opposed to plain new merchandise found at MCM. Save hassle and money, go to Braehead, Aug 23. MCM's a complete con that keeps most of its profits instead of spending them on guests, displays etc.
