Mam in the last question only one equation is given while we need two equations. You have taken the same equation for both x on y and y on x.....pls clarify

Yes, we are given with the equation that defines the relationship between variable x and variable y. And with the help of this equation or we can say using this relationship, we define the regression equation in terms of y on x (y dependent on x) Y = a+bX and then x on y (x dependent on y) X = a+bY. Here, ‘b’ is the slope of regression line which represents the regression coefficients. Now accordingly, with the help of this property that the product of coefficient of regression is equal to the square of the coefficient of correlation, we get the value of correlation coefficient.
