When he says "he was there, the day the towers fell" was a reference to Gerard (lead singer) having been working in NYC and was on a ferry in the Hudson when 9/11 happened and it made him basically ask himself "wtf am I doing with my life?" And thus inspired him to start a band. An insane callback for OG fans!! Love your love for them!!
I thought it was about the harmful foundations we root ourselves in and no matter how many times our rebuilt towers come and go it will continue to tumble if we never grow from the inside out like it’s basically a song about fixing yourself but if that’s a little play into that that’s cool too
it actually was a huge wait lol the last full album was danger days (2010) followed by the conventional weapons eps that dropped between 2012-2013 eight songs total. the last new song was eight years ago in 2014 when they announced they were breaking up! anything later on that i think they put an anniversary edition of some content but we haven't had new content in nearly a decade, and twelve years since an album! this is huuuuuge i can't believe i'm going to their concert this fall
i think the anniversary edition you’re talking about is the black parade’s 10th year edition right? It included a ton of demos but that was pretty much the new content it brought. Then after that, not My Chem, but Gerard and i think Ray Toro released a couple covers for Umbrella Academy. That’s the extent of the mcr content since they broke up
@@blondiedies yeah that's the one! it's the most recent thing on their spotify, i think he checked the discography and was like oh so it hasn't been THAT long since they've dropped! but like we haven't gotten real significant content like a full album or anything in over a decade now so it's a bit misleading! i remember i threw a 1st birthday party for danger days in 2011 seems like yesterday lol
Fact is, the EPs and "Fake your death" were all recorded around 2009... They legit haven't produced new music since 2010. I still can't believe this is real.
DANGER DAYS! You need to react to it! The most underrated album as it had to follow The Black Parade. It’s a pure pop rock album with a cool fun concept thrown in. The vibe is much lighter than their previous material but it still slaps.
thank God. I feel like the only MCR fan that LOVES Danger Days. some of the radio songs like "sing" are skips for me now, but I could listen to Destroyah all day long.
@@kellz9972 I've recently been replaying Bulletproof Heart over and over xD love that whole album and all the unique sounds it has. Heck I just love this band and how unique they are and the passion put into each song
Emo is fucking back baby and My chemical romance just came out of the fucking ashes. The internet is exploding lmfao. #1 tending on twitter . No one fucking knew . They just came back and took the fucking emo crown and revived it . I’m getting emotional🖤🥀
it’s been nearly a decade, everyone i know that’s even slightly into them is losing their mind right now. it’s so so cool to see them back, makes my heart so happy:,)🖤
Fabrizio!! The fact you didn’t mention it made me realize you haven’t reacted to Danger Days yet. It’s very pop-rockish and I feel you’d love it just as much as I do
Green Day’s American Idiot and also 21st Century Breakdown are phenomenal pop punk rock opera albums with heavy concept and stunning songs front to back. This is peak top tier Pop Punk. I’m telling you dude you won’t regret these albums and I promise you people will LOVE that you are reacting to them.
Echoing a few other people by saying you should definitely react to Danger Days. Also, MCR and The Used were two of the biggest emo bands back in the 2000’s. They have a cover of Under Pressure by Queen and Bowie you should check out too. There was a feud between them so a lot of people felt like they had to choose sides, but they both make great music. The Used has some really great music videos too. MCR will always be my number 1 though 😄
Saw them in show two weeks ago in Montréal..... it was my third times seeing them.... best time ever.... i brought my older teenager with me (the 3 of them grew up with their music) and we had the best time of our life! They really are back and they sound freaking amazing!!!
I was at the San Antonio concert a couple of weeks ago. And it was good, but I say concert because it really wasn’t a show so much. Still I got to see them.
for alt stuff my favorite band is set it off and the songs i consider to be their go to songs, at least for me, are wolf in sheeps clothing, killer in the mirror, kill the lights, and horrible kids
If you want something that sounds like MCR with the mix of quiet and loud parts, you should check out the Pixies. MCR has sited Pixies as one of their many musical inspirations and I like both so I think they go together. Doolittle would be a good place to start since it's their most popular album and its a good summary of their sound
I will be going to a MCR concert TOMORROW! I'm so excited :D It's like you said a thing I never thought would happen but here we go :) Love your reactions, keep it up :)
I really hope you go see them!!!! I got to see them before they broke up and I never thought I'd get to see them again so don't let the chance pass you by!!! Throw on something black and get your MCR on my sweet friend!!
Check the lyrics when you can, makes the song that much better knowing the theme! Maybe check out ‘skylines and turnstiles’ it’s a song from their very first album about 9/11 and Gerard seeing the towers fall! also as a side check out ‘head first for halos’ off of their first album if you want to jump around, very up beat!
You should check out this band called Movements, Daylily or Full Circle are absolutely amazing. Loved this video and watching you just fall in love with this band and genre is so fun to watch!!!
I believe Gerard wrote this to remind himself of why he formed MCR. That’s my take on it. He formed it to make people feel good after witnessing 9/11 in New York and witnessing people’s reactions. He succeeded. MCR has been so much for so many people. I love it.
Looking for recommendations. The most contemporary artist to MCR when they were at their height would be The Used. Check out the albums "In Love and Death" and "The Used" their self titled album. both are full of amazing music. I don't skip a single song on either album.
some more punk/rock music for you to check out im thinking a fever you can’t sweat out by panic! at the disco, infinity on high by fall out boy, hot fuss by the killers, and definitely Danger Days by mcr
My guy, I really enjoy your reviews. You do an amazing job. I really want you to do more music like this, that I connect with. Please please please react to Manchester Orchestra’s music video for Simple Math. The song and the video will both blow you away.
React to Danger Days and their very first album, “ I brought you my bullets, you brought me your love”! MCR is one of those rare bands that really don’t have a bad record. You should definitely take the time to listen/react to both!
you should definitely give danger days a listen - it's another concept album, there is even a comic book series created by gerard that explores the universum further. if you want to react to some videos from the album, go for 'na na na' first and then 'sing' - that should give you a bit of an insight into the story of the killjoys
