Finally someone gave justice to this song, it's so underrated and even a lot of my friends who likes MCR don't know The light behind your eyes

The world has almost ended. Cities are flooded and the people in them have vanished leaving empty and eerie ruins. A massive stadium, made for thousands of people is empty, save for five people on the stage. They are the last people on earth, and they play with an intensity never before matched. Gerard sings the world’s last song, as thunder roars above and rain falls down into the stadium. Lighting flashes, illuminating the scene and for a second we see a massive crowd of people cheering and singing and waving their arms. They disappear, but we see flashes of them along with the lighting, a host of ghosts attending the last concert ever. The thunder roars one final time, we catch one final glimpse of the army of ghosts, and the final note of The Light Behind Your Eyes fades out. The world ends.

Imagine: Gerard wakes up in the middle of the night. It's pouring outside. His mind is filled with memories of his days in My Chemical Romance. He gets up and goes outside. He's soaked, but he doesn't care. He sits in the middle of the front lawn, and starts singing this. The instrumental is in his head. He starts sobbing, thinking about MCR. He misses his friends. At the end, where he whispers, Lindsey comes out and sits nets to him, hugging him. Comforting him.

I literally had to click off this video because this song just gets me so emotional and with the empty arena effect, it just makes me feel even more sad

All I can imagine is someone wanted to commit suicide because they bottle up all of their emotions, and they have no one to help them. It's a rainy day and this is when they're going to do it. But toward the end, when the music and rain escalate, they finally let go. They scream, they yell, they cry, they finally let it all out. And in that moment they know that they will be okay.

Jesus, this edit makes me think about how influential and incredibly inspiring these four men are. I feel a strong sense of jealousy and love for them. I'm jealous because my dream is to leave a huge, positive mark on young people like they did. Seeing videos of these men standing in front of a loving crowd makes me imagine myself up there. I want desperately to be just like MCR, Nirvana, and all the other great bands that left such an influence on people. Great job on this. And I'm sorry for ranting.

I imagine that during nights when Gerard really misses the days of MCR he goes to a quite room on his own, opens a computer, and starts playing this song. He still has the files of every song he's ever done. Every part except the vocal track. He sits there and listens to the track, singing along with as much passion as he did back then and imagining that he's singing on stage with his band, his friends, his brothers right there next to him. He this is how he spends the nights that he yearns for the days of MCR, remembering the times he spent with a some of the people closest to him, giving their message to their fans and trying to help as many people as possible.

it's the night after the S.I.N.G. music video took place. the little girl is sitting outside clutching a letter.....it's from party poison. as she reads it in gerard's voice, a thunderstorm starts up. soon, the rain falling on her face begins to mix with tears... soon, she reaches the bottom of the paper, and sees that it is signed by the four original killjoys. right then and there she vows to herself, and makes a promise to the late killjoys to never let _anyone_ take the light from behind her eyes.

I was jokingly a fan of this band when I was in fifth grade (my uncle always listened to them when I was a little kid, and I thought they were ridiculous and that Gerard was scary during Revenge) , but then I kept listening to their music and I couldn't help feeling an emotional attachment to this song. They have became the most of an impact on my life, and I will be forever grateful for them making their music and sending the message of loving yourself. Each of the albums have a special place in my heart and will never be replaced by anything. Thank you Gerard Way, Frank Iero, Mikey Way, and Ray Toro for making a difference in millions of lives and helping people stay strong. So long and goodnight Killjoys.

Alright...I've only read the title but I'm fully prepared to cry.

Even though I'm scared of thunder and lightning (how pathetic I know) I feel at peace listening to this like all my worries and feeling have washed away.....

Fun story; I was actually walking around alone late at night in a rainstorm listening to this while crying. I felt that, my emoness peaked at that moment.

I’m gonna comment again. Just dream of MCR singing on a long in the forest while it’s storming. As the song builds up you see lanterns from behind. The MCRmy come with them, surrounding them. Hugging, crying and singing along loudly with their heroes and family. No one could make you feel happier and more loved on Earth then them. Your happy with your self in that state and at peace singing in the rain in a forest

For anyone who dose not know this song was made for a depressed fan. Gerard Way told her he would he would write her a song, and wanted to sing her to sleep, and keep them from taking the light behind her eyes.

IMAGINE: The rain is pouring down. It's almost as if the heavens weep with you as you walk slowly down the main street of an unfamiliar city. The lights of the neon signs cast a melting glow across the wet street, irradiating the dark shadows of empty buildings. You're dragging your feet as to avoid the inevitable: passing back over the threshold of your own home, which has felt like less and less of a safe haven as time has droned on. Sopping wet, and eyes red, you stop under the next street light to stare straight up at the night sky and filled with imposing, dark, storm clouds. Though the rain has thus far drowned out every sound, you hear a voice. Walking towards it, your stride increasing in length, you hear a voice over a microphone. Cautiously continuing forward, you come what seems liken old performance hall. There's no one around, so you push on the door, which, in turn, opens with a creak that makes you wince. You hesitate at first, but begin cautiously walking down the unlit corridor, and toward the main room. You lower your hood as you pass through the door, revealing an empty concert hall. The stage lights are the only illumination in the dark building. With a heavy heart, you melt into a chair about 10 rows from the front, covered by the blackness. You cast a glance toward the face of the singer. His face is contorted in aguish, conveying a wave of emotion that seems to echo all the pain you've been carrying. And for a moment...just a moment...the warmth that comes with the knowledge that you are not alone shields you from the world, and for the first time in a long time, you are okay. On nights of extreme insomnia. I tend to listen to this. Gerard's voice + the thunder and rain is so calming and it helps my mind shut off

I want to listen to this when I die I don't care how old or young I am if I can I will listen to this as I die it's just so emotional and sounds sad but it makes me happy for whatever reason it brings so many memories and flashbacks and makes me think of my friends and messing around and laughing and that's what I want to think of when I die the happy times and remember in the end how much a band can effect you and who you are who you have become what you want to do what you want to be... I thank Gerard Way so much... he once said in an interview that he created the band to help people well you did it Gerard and you did a damn good job

I was a HUGE fan of theirs back in 2004-2008 and then I kind of lost touch with following them. I was soooo happy to discover Conventional Weapons and especially this song many years later as I got back into them. I managed to snag concert tickets to see them again for the first time in 15 years
