He's not entirely wrong. Being programmed into a remorseless killing machine, then coming to terms with all of it and reclaiming who you were (nearly a century later, too) can really make you a somber dude.
**starts to have flashbacks to all the things that led the MCU to be MCU because of Bucky** Note: reason why I said that is because of Bucky assassinating Howard Stark start it made Tony Stark the head of Stark industry, without Tony In charge of stark industry he wouldn’t have been taken hostage by the ten rings and becoming Iron man! I can go more into depth about this! 😅
It's funny how well adapted Ryan is to Shane's weird antics when outsiders are clearly weirded out by his nonchalant statements. Ryan didn't miss a beat even after Shane revealed he dreamed of being stabbed. I guess Ryan always wanted that to happen one way or another. True friends indeed.
I love how they all ranked them differently. Erik ranked his through thoughtful analysis, Ryan ranked them based on what hit him emotionally, and then there’s Shane who ranked his based on what he remembers made him laugh
Erik is technically in the MCU by extension of his appearance in Good Morning America, meaning Watcher is in the MCU too. So we can say the Top 1 MCU death is The Professor's.
I think Natasha's death would definitely be on my list, probably 2nd or 3rd. The emotion, the finality of her story and her arc, the fight with Hawkeye, it was heartbreaking and amazing and it still makes me cry
I love Shanes take on the mcu, he just listed the funniest deaths and didnt remember half of the movies "Oh yeah tony Stark, I forgot he died" was so good 😂
Ryan’s story about the lil kid in the theatre had me in tears. 😭😂 It’s both so sad and so funny. And hey, my first thought when they were talking about why didn’t the parent(s) tell their kid to be quiet? I’d be willing to bet that kid has probably been obsessed with Spider-man for a while now, and he’s probably just as loud and excited about it at home. That parent might’ve been sitting back laughing about their kid’s reaction as much as Ryan was. 😂😂
Dude I love Erik and I’ve been following Watcher since the beginning (obviously following from Buzzfeed) so like…. Three men I adore. Together. This is fabulous.
I honestly admire Shane for being excited for their top 1, being a marvel non-fan is hard when you find everything extremely funny, but still respect the love that some people have for it. And I agree, Vision and Loki's death are top 5 material just bc of the Glowstick Physics of it all
Ryan talking about stabbing faces for some reason made me think of when Christopher Lee died. They were talking about how a director wanted some over the top stab scene and Christopher Lee asked him, "do you know what a man sounds like when he's stabbed in the back with a dagger?" "No" "I do"
Oh god I agree with the neck snap thing though, it's so visceral I've had to die like that on stage before, we did Carrie, and she twists her hand and I jerk and slump forward, and I _heard_ people wince over the scary music because there was a sound (I slammed the brakes on my wheelchair, it was very satisfying), and then the kid backing away slowly just. Dies It's very fun to elicit that reaction out of someone
Erik’s reaction too Shane at 18:55 when he briefly mentions his dream of being stabbed in a parking garage 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Ryan just keeps talking like that was an everyday comment.
I find it really funny how at 19:00 when Shane is talking about being stabbed in a dream and Erik is just in complete shock and confusion while Ryan is just continuing on like normal lol
the way Shane described his list was BRUTAL lmao. Putting my 2-cents in, I think the best deaths in the MCU for me are: Loki's death in Infinity War, Natasha and Tony's deaths in Endgame, Steve going in the ice in The First Avenger (Not a death but it's a beautiful scene and it still hits hard because he wakes up SO many years later), and (SPOILER ALERT FOR NO WAY HOME!) Aunt May's death. They acted it out so well and it hurt knowing that Peter, a 17 yr old character, was losing his last parental figure.
I'm surprised that Gwen Stacy wasn't added, I did not see that coming and I remember gasping in shock in the theater. It definitely would be in #2 and then in Shang Chi, the father Wenwu
@@deprofundis3293 the amazing Spider-Man is part of the Sony Spiderman universe, which is I believe tasm, venom, morbius, etc. Since morbius and Venom are in Andrew's Spiderman's world. Even after nwh, tasm is not part of the MCU, it's a separate universe that was like linked for that one movie because of the spell.
natasha literally didn't even get a funeral,, her death was so emotionally charged too and no one really. acknowledges it much,, WHAT ABOUT NATASHA GUYS SOMEONE TALK ABOUT HER. PLEASE
Didn't expect Erik Voss will be making his appearance! I enjoy watching NewRockstars and to see the boys talking about MCU gives me so much joy! Frank in the list is definitely unexpected. Definitely a wet one.
I just shrieked as soon as I started the video. Erik Voss knows his stuff. He's one of my favorites on youtube. He is for New Rockstars what Ryan and Shane were for Buzzfeed lol. I love all these guys
Erik looked slightly uncomfortable (in the “I wasn’t expecting this energy from these guys” sense) but if you go watch back the Big Question episodes on NR with Filup and Erik, they have the same energy
Dude they’re so right, Wanda and Pietro had more on screen sexual chemistry than any other pairing in the MCU and it was so uncomfortable like how did no one notice during production???!? Bringing in the other quicksilver for WandaVision was such a relief I couldn’t sit through that again
I'm surprised nobody mentioned that pilot in the 1st captain america getting ripped out of the plane and getting chopped up with blood following the plane rotors
Wonder if Ryan or Erik’s list would be different if they included “No Way Home.” (*Spoiler ahead, if that’s still needed at this point…*) Because Aunt May’s death would for sure make my list. For Shane I don’t think his list would change at all lol.
Tony died so that Steve could live. I loved Steve's "death" because it was such a sense of relief to see an avenger kind of live happily ever after ya know?
Voss laughing extra hard at Shane's #1 and realizing Shane took offense to it, and then tries not to laugh again but clearly is having a hard time lmaooooo
Every character on Shane's list he has no idea how they die, but watching the absolute joy on his face as the other two recount their deaths is the funniest shit I've ever seen 🤣🤣
A lot of these on both Erik and Shane's list....i was like...is this not rated on impact, and like meaning? I guess not lol. And the fact Iron Man wasn't #1 on all their lists. Like I guess there's personal opinions..but idk.
So we see here three different grading categories: 1. Shane: How much joy he had after watching the character's death 2. Ryan: How meaningful the death was in context 3. Eric: 💦 W E T N E S S 💦
"Zemo's family" as Shane's choice killed me. Not even on screen, not even something I would consider, and rolled out by the guy who can't even remember half the deaths he chose. Yet still perfection 😆
pls the way ryan described his joy at seeing a heartbroken child be absolutely destroyed over spiderman’s death was more funny than it had a right to be
Erik: Gory, visceral, wants to recoil at the scene of someone's demise. Ryan: Sad, impactful, wants to cry at the scene of someone's demise. Shane: Evil unfiltered chaos. Wants everyone's demise.
"I had a dream that I was stabbed in a parking lot" - you can see that he is fighting between laughing and wanting to interject to know wtf kind of dreams Shane is having. ^^
If you know that your kid won’t be able to shut up during a movie- ESPECIALLY if it’s a movie you know adults will be going to see- don’t fucking take them. Rent it later and have a movie night at home or something. My husband sat us in front of a gaggle of small children when we saw NWH and it almost ruined the experience for me.
I loved the “Gene Parmesan” comment from Eric. The whole story is something I can heavily relate to. I love my step child but I won’t take her to a movie theatre until she’s about five and understands the whole concept of “sit and be quiet” Kids just can’t do that and it doesn’t help that the parent in the story didn’t seem to have regard for how big Endgame would be to some people who don’t want to listen to your kid making sound effects and talking the entire movie.
I love it so much. People kept telling me that you'll like having kids around when you get older, I'm nearly 30 now & I'm still glad I don't have to deal with kids for the most part. Because just like in Ryan's encounter, the real monsters are them.
I remember being at IMAX which is the 3D version of a movie cinema in Australia. I was in primary (elementary) school and for half the duration of a movie a kid kept kicking my seat. It got to the point where I got up fuming and in a fuming inside voice told his mother to make him stop before I made him. Think it startled her and he didn’t dare after.
