The nuke superman took was detonated in space, meaning it only emitted radiation and literally gave off zero heat. And bcz heat & blast are around 75% of a nuke’s destructive capacity, that means Superman only tanked around 15% of the nuke, which is about 150 kilotons or town level Im not even gonna try and compare that to the power of a neutron star.

@@theblazingvoid6524 Honestly true. Nukes are hot as fuck, but heat isn’t everything. The most impressive thing about Thor’s feat is tanking the gravitational pressure of the star. Neutron stars have 1.5x the mass of the sun, but it’s condensed into a 12 mile wide sphere. It’s ridiculous how people completely neglect scientific facts in order to win an argument. Even when they know I have actual evidence and that I am in the right, they resort to, “YoUrE jUsT a tHor fAnBOy.”

All of Thor’s feats have been forgotten. Either that or literally no one notices, like even back in Thor 1 he was shattering the Bifrost bridge and blowing holes through Jotunheim which should be at least multi continental - planetary I mean in all fairness a lot of MCU feats are way more subtle and not as obvious to notice, especially if ur just an average movie goer. But yh superman’s tectonic plate feat gets way too overhyped - first off it’s not anywhere near as impressive as the shit Thor does in infinity war and secondly it’s arguably not even a legitimate feat🤷🏽‍♂️

.....the full force of a star is a tiny fraction of it's power??? In virtually all situations force and power are essentially synonymous. I see absolutely no reason to assume otherwise here

And how was Groot able to resist the gravitational force of that neutron star? How did Thor's outfit endure the heat of that neutron star?

Eitri states Thor will be taking the full force of the star, so regardless he still took basically everything the star has to offer when it comes to power output. Yea they’re not all magnetars but they’re still neutron stars and therefore applicable to the feat - I mean what’s there to say that the star Thor tanked isn’t a magnetar or isn’t as powerful as one itself? And it’s clear from the evidence I’ve shown that neutron stars are levels above that of multi continental, literally being near one can fuck up a solar system and two neutron stars colliding shook the universe. The gbe calc also proves Thor tanked solar system levels of energy, since the star is housed within a Dyson sphere meaning he took its full force (not exactly a surprise I hope) The links to all sources used are in the description fyi, go look at them if ur interested

Eitri isn’t saying that he’s taking the power output across its entire lifetime, that would be stupid and would mean the Dyson sphere is draining the star of its energy which isn’t what a Dyson sphere does. It collects all the energy a star gives off every second and focuses it which is multi continental. It doesn’t matter, you can’t just assume it’s a magnetar without any evidence. You’re the one asserting that it is so the burden of proof is on you. Magnetar like pulsars have two beans coming out of them. Nidavellir doesn’t, the only thing we know about it is that it’s a neutron star so we can only assume it’s a standard one, not a magnetar. Without additional information you always assume the average rather than the maximum. You’re purposely trying to highball Thor to fit your agenda. There’s nothing to say it was a magnetar or was as powerful as one. Unless you have evidence to suggest that it’s just meaningless speculation on your behalf. Solar system level attacks are explosions big enough to engulf the solar system. Not just destabilise it. No neutron stars are colliding so that’s irrelevant. Already addressed the GBE nonsense, if you actually knew GBE was you wouldn’t be using it. I’ve already looked into those sources because it’s my job to. I have to research this for a living.

A neutron star is the final stage of a star’s lifecycle, so it’s interchangeable with the word “dying star” Yes, the surface temperature of neutron stars is 600,000K, however the temperature of its core is much, much higher at around 100 billion - 1 quadrillion K (although this can fall to just 1 million K over time) And Thor wouldn’t be tanking the surface temperature considering he was a) taking the full force of the star, and so logically the full temperature as well, and b) he was literally standing right in front of the heart of the star

If it's a normal Neutron star, it's immense gravitational force and intense radiation would kill you almost instantly. You would be ripped into atoms in no time. So even if we assume MCU Thor survived that in that scene, there's no way Groot and Rocket would've survived 1 second near the neutron star. And even if we assume that those two are also durable enough to resist the effects, then they can basically jump and escape the Earth's gravity. Rocket is a racoon from Earth. He's intelligent but there's no way he can survive near a neutron star. The gravitational force and radiation is not taken into account in that scene.

This is a late answer but I would want to give my opinion and supposition. Take in count that apparently Nidavellir is a huge complex mechanism, which would include the possibility that the total energy of the star pass through many filters inside the structure to being able to be used by the forge. It is like the relation between the energy central of a city and the rest of the houses that are connected. Then it is possible than while the heat that comes from the star is incredible, the forge only received a little part of it which is enough to do the job. As the creator of the video said, Nidavellir apparently used a mechanism following something that is hypothetical and fictional. It is true that a star can't be turned on and off like the movie shows as you said, but being the entire context of the place something fictional it would be difficult to apply the entirety of real life terms and rules to that thing. The IRL conditions could be used as long as it doesn't make a contradiction (like the lightspeed limits), althought this is highly arguable. Also, take in count that the mechanism works focusing the entire power/force of the star in a single point and that Nidavellir is a place that is made to have people working and living there like Eitri's race. It wouldn't be logical that it could have inhabitants there if they would die due to the radiation, to give an example. Then there is the possibility that things like the radiation or magnetic force or a similar energy or pressure would be focused in the beam that Thor endured or that the forge part is protected by something, allowing people like Eitri or Rocket to stay there without problems because the dangerous elements are redirected to another place. In addition, this feat could be supported by another feat of Thor enduring the power stone blast that destroyed the Statesman. The Statesman is a ship that could go through a collapsing neutron star without being destroyed (something that not many ships could do), which would be a great feat for the asgardian being able to not die by a explosion that destroyed something like that.

And the entire place is likely protected by magic as the dwarfs have been working there for thousands of years. So they won't be affected by the gravity.
