After Prince in Minneapolis, the epic of a Tuareg rock guitarist. Portland filmmaker Christopher Kirkley shot the first film about the Tuareg rock, Akounak Tedalat Taha Tazoughai in Agadez, Niger, with musician Mdou Moctar . He tells in Genesis "It started as a joke. I worked in West Africa with musicians for my label, Sahel Sounds. One day we said "Why not do a remake of Purple Rain ? "As an expatriate, American culture was missing. The idea remained. The main role was given to the musician Mdou Moctar, very popular right now thanks to mobile phones. "In Niger, everyone knows his music, but nobody knows who it is. The film is also its history and recounts his difficulties as a musician is frowned upon. They do not do concerts, they occur in certain occasions, such as weddings or baptisms. The competition is fierce. "The traditional Tuareg folk guitar, born of rebellion in the late 70s was a revolutionary music played by exiles like Abdallah ag Oumbadougou, Libya, she carried a political message. It evolved by incorporating electric guitars, the message is not the same. In Niger and Mali, mostly we hear songs of love and friendship. "There was never any filming in Agadez and I have never seen a movie. To be seen on site, we will send copies of the film in Niger. It will be released as well, by circulation of pirated copies. " is unofficial remake Tuareg finally arrives! Featuring the musician Mdou Moctar, Akounak Tedalat Taha Tazoughai (literally Rain blue with some red) is the story of a young in northern Niger, who tries to become a guitarist, against all odds. While misuse of Purple Rain, Akounak is a tribute to social and political struggles through music. The realization is cobbled together, inspired by Italian neo-realism and experimental films of Jean Rouch. This is the original song "Anar" by the incredible contemporary Nigerien musician, Mdou Moctar. His tracks reached western audiences thanks to the hard work of Sahel Sounds Records, which discovered his music being traded on cellphone SIM cards in Saharan Africa. This fast, economical, and populist means of file-sharing is a major kind of information transfer in western Africa, where personal computers are rare, and vinyl records don't stand up to the heat of the sun. Aside from renaming our cover of this song "Vanessa," we took several liberties in our re-interpretation of this tracks, and gave it our own flavor. Most notably, we rewrote the lyrics, as we have no idea what Moctar is singing about whatsoever. Listening to Moctar's vocals, we translated them phonetically (transcribing English lyrics that most closely resembled the sound of the original words). We kept, however, the definitive auto-tuning ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-APSHgvTplR8.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-APSHgvTplR8.html Visit Sahel Sounds for more great music and information: sahelsounds.com/
