Thanks for the video, it’s help me decide on which mags to order or purchase for the stock I just ordered.

Excellent, hope it helps. I picked up some of the 10rd polys and metal from MDT and took them to the range for testing. They all fed really well!

I wonder about that Magpul pmag. Do you feel like the spring is too tight to make it drag the round underneath? I believe those 5rd mags also turn into 6rd mags if you remove some piece. Would have to research that, since I only have 10rd mags. But i wonder if that would affect the spring tension. Just a thought from someone looking at this stock. Love the channel! Keep up the good work!!

Thank you! 🙏🏻 That’s a good thought. Haven’t had time to properly sluth it out. Playing the magazine-game is always fun with new systems. 😂

Did you have any feeding problems? Did you decide on one or the other? Thanks

The Magpul ones are the only ones that gave me any feeding problems. Other than that they all worked well.

I haven't the new detach mags. I have a factory rem dm that works. These don't seem reliable and look cheap. Am I missing something?

So for the MDT Field Stock which mags have you found that actually work without failures such as the failure you are seeing with the Magpul? I ask because I am considering the Field Stock but am not interested in spending $80 for metal mags and would prefer a polymer mag that works. Thanks.

The MDT polymer/metal lips 10rd with great! The metal ones also all work great; but expensive. The 3rd poly works great as well along with the standard 10rd poly.

@@calebwhiteknives by 3rd poly and 10rd poly you mean the MDT mags, correct? And thank you for the response, this is a sticking point as to whether I purchase this chassis or not. If I can't find a mag that works reliably I won't make the purchase regardless of make or manufacture.

Have you found any difference in magazine feeding between the early round bolt and the later bolt with the cutout for Magazine clearance.

It’s not something I’ve tested; so I can’t speak to it accurately. Sorry!

not really related but, with all my rifles i feel like im always worried about getting the lenses on my scopes dirty or scratched and then having a problem during a hunt. It seems like though, lots of videos on yt show people dont use any sort of scope caps. why is that? Am i missing something? maybe its not as big of a problem as i imagine.

You know I struggled with that for years as well, and eventually realized that the glass on most (modern) scopes can take a lot more abuse than credit us given. Also, other than some dents and scratches, nothing super bad can happen which would severely hinder a hunt. Other than busting a lens outright, breaking it loose, or busting reticles and turrets, most scopes are usable well past what you might think. Damage to the internals is a way more likely thing to happen under abusive conditions; in regards to effecting accuracy. I have a few old Burris scopes I inherited which are dirty and scratched up all over the lenses; alongside some of the stuff I came across in military armories…still usable! Ugly. But functional. 😆 It’s like getting that first scratch on a new vehicle. Hurts at first, then you finally relax and just enjoy using it. During storage and transportation is the only time I personally put caps on. Out in the woods..game time. It’s a tool. Use it without restraints!
