I received my MVD plus one, along with trainer and rhino sheat. Everything, from the knife, the sheat, to the packaging, is extremely well done. Almost got robbed today. I wasn’t carrying anything for self defense and that’s a mistake I’m not going to make again. I was able to deescalate but I’m getting an MDV Plus one so I don’t have to take that risk again if the worst happens!

hey Mike I wanted to know your opinion on dipping a trainer blade in plastic handle tool stuff I love your well thought out knives salute from a old vet

I’ve tried it. It works well. I feel the tape is more reliable and easier to remove. I like having the ability to reset the blade back to just bare metal. I’ve melted rubber for a handle on one and it was decent. Almost impossible to take off though. 🤷‍♂️ -MDv

If we had to pick between the MVD and Guardian for a EDC, which one do you recommend?

Thats easy.. the Guardian is almost 11" long and is not designed to be a EDC tool at all so i would pick the tool that was designed to be the best EDC ever designed. The MDV.

Would defeat the whole reason around the knife to be able to function a pistol or rifle while its still in your hand with correct grip.. Which is why we monkey tape it..

So I got mine in December. Is the sheath I got with mine considered the new sheath? The rhinos were out of stock so I added a clip to give it the rhino horn and add versatility in many configurations. I’ll be placing my order for the rhinos. I added a couple strips of electrical tape to the edge of the trainer for my training group to lessen the sharpness until I got enough reps to make my reps effective, but not harmful

My aluminum was so dull wouldnt even cut paper! I love profile but scared to buy d2 or damascus because im afraid of sharpness amd with profile sharpening wont be easy to do well thats probably why they cant even do it on factory runs.

Comments like this make my head hurt.. Its aluminum you cant sharpen aluminum to a razor edge and its not made to cut paper. its make to stab into flesh and cut its way out though tissue, its designed to save your life once, thats it.. A chisel grind is one of the most easy knives to sharpen but like anything you do have to have skills to sharpen a knife. There is more content on video for this knife then most likely any other knife on the market with out counting the 20 hour long virtual training course. What you are doing is buying one tool that is designed to do a very specific job and trying to spread it across many jobs. While you say it would not cut paper but i bet you would not with pressure drag it across your arm or leg..

@Skallywag for the same reason you outlined in the video. It doesn't lock my blade in securely, and given I wear my during strenuous activities, let's just say have it fallout and someone could get hurt including but not limited to myself.

The standard sheath is total insecure crap ‼️ Knife hurts your inner hand with that little hook at the upper side of the back. This should be rounded. Even the reverse hammer grip is very incomfortable for the thumb. A totaly overhyped and overpriced knife.

If the slick handle is such a concern why don't they make a g10 grip?

Because then its too big and it interferes with proper weapon grip and the monkey tape works better then G-10 and also helps keep the price down. Less manufacturing and less material equals less cost. among other reasons.

I’m not sure if I gave the impression that the skeletonized grip was a concern, but if I did, that wasn’t intended. There is no issue with the grip. It was designed to be customized by the person carrying the blade. There is no way to create the perfect grip for everyone. Also when blood, hair, and other crap gets inside of a premade grip, it’s very hard to clean properly. This is designed to be customizable with any tape that you like. When it gets used and dirty/bloody, you cut the tape off and can easily clean the blade. Then retape it. Some people like no tape at all. I carry my Damascus version without any tape. No one bats an eye when you say they should personalize their Glock or 1911. Everyone picks their preferred holster and adds grips, extended mag releases, etc, etc. In the end, they feel it’s their “unique” version of that pistol. This is no different. I wanted people to spend time finding the best grip for them. That will make it their own. More time thinking about it, taping it, working on it will make them more comfortable with that blade. More time in their hands. It will mean more to them. This was my intent. If some people don’t like it, most every other knife in the world comes with a premade handle. Lots of options to pick from if that’s their thing. 🤷‍♂️

@@sliceymike I'm a 5 foot 1 51 year old former soldier. I bought your blade because it makes sense for me to have it in my car and when I'm out and about. Idea I have is if they reach into my car to carjack me or harm me and for some reason they can because my window's down (never is) I'm going for the interior of their arms the way you show on your videos and pulling out of there ASAP. I'll let the police and paramedics tend to the creep. I'm not rendering first aid. I'm leaving.
