saw this animatic • Two Birds - The Owl Ho... and thought the song would fit for the twin jades!! ;w; i love them both w all my heart... i'll def make a happier animatic for them in the future! twitter ; nikud0ns ig ; nikudons
@@jeffpatterson901MXTX said that lxc must get married and have a wife after he reaches a certain level of cultivation, in interviews. It's not outright said but it's implied he will, and have children to be the lan sect hier. Whether it is out of duty or love remains in question though.
And Nie Huaisang, cause even though he got revenge, he's still alone and carries the burden for the terrible things he did to ensure his brother's revenge.
@@amparoohoo3532 true. huaisang was the reason why wangxian story continued yet he didn’t have his happy ending either. without huaisang , wangxian would’ve had a very bitter ending. Yes, he did get his revenge but at the end of the day his brother is still dead.mdzs was literally about him, but what has been paid? Dust 😭
@@hessahalali1487 so true, he did more for others than he recieved. but also, he did kinda drive mo xuanyu to suicide. but then again, he probably saved a lot of people from jin guangyao's hunger for power.
the little detail of not being able to see lxc's face at 1:05 really hurts me. his brother has no idea how utterly hurt he is and the fact that we can't see what's written on his face really, really hurts. this is the only animatic that actually makes my stomach hurt from emotional pain, well done!!
Ok, if you would stop shredding my soul to pieces with all these feels, I would actually be .... even more upset!!!! Lol this is great. Xichen deserves love too! Omg I wish there was an extra for him in the book where he finds relief.
Honestly LXC had such a tragic story. He lost both his parents at a young age and had to raise LWJ by himself (and Lan Qiren was extremely harsh with them so they never had much of a childhood). Although he didn't trust WWX's side of the story, I think LXC just wanted to place his trust in JGY the same way that he saw his brother LWJ placed his trust in WWX, but in the end LXC was betrayed by his sworn brother and left all alone. In The Untamed, I like how they show that LWJ left and took care of matters (supposedly with his heartbroken brother and things at Cloud Recesses) before finding WWX again and having their happy ending (and marriage). But in the novel, LXC was extremely traumatized after stabbing JGY and could not speak, not even to his strict uncle. But LWJ just left to elope with WWX (which is understandable of course, but feels a little like he was abandoning his brother in his greatest time of need). Also LXC never had any closure afterwards in the extras or any mention at all... The last we hear of him is him breaking down and completely traumatized and guilt-ridden by stabbing JGY and then JGY pushing him away before dying. Poor LXC... I hope he finds someone in the future who cares for him and does not abandon him. He deserves a happy ending after all he's been through.
Oh, LWJ totally just abandoned LXC. It's annoying the fandom ignores the shit LWJ does. He loves WWX. He is OBSESSED with WWX. He walks a very fine line and it causes him to do things that are, while morally grey, Not Good.
@@IceQueen975 True, although I can understand his position as well. He's been yearning, then mourning, then yearning for the love of his life for basically 15 years (in the book) and WWX finally confesses to loving him as well so they decide to escape the politics and exhaustions of the cultivation world and elope together. Of course I feel bad for LXC and I wish that LWJ stood by him during his lowest point. But I can understand why LWJ wanted to finally spend time with WWX. I don't think it's all LWJ's fault, either. LXC should have trusted his brother more than his sworn brother; but he didn't and that's what made him fall into JGY's trap. In the end, it's pretty much all JGY's (or by extension, Jin Guangshan) fault. All the characters basically had tragic endings aside from the main couple, and I think the point of the ending is to show how nobody is perfectly evil nor perfectly good. JGY does some good things (like setting up watch towers) and LWJ does some morally ambiguous things (like injuring his elders to protect WWX and abandoning his brother to be with WWX). The true villain in the story is the public mob which determines one's reputation and therefore their fate. In the end, WWX and LWJ decided to escape this by living on their own and hunting on their own without the eyes of the cultivation world on them. They did some bad things, but they also stood by the side of the helpless and vulnerable; some things can be blamed on them, but still nothing can be fully blamed on them, as it was the consequence of many characters and multiple inevitable situations.
@@양지혜-i3h LXC did actually somewhat believe LWJ when he told him who JGY was. He decided to go along with them(WWX and LWJ) and see who JGY was for himself. One thing this fandom fails to understand about the situation between LXC and JGY, is that LXC was continuously manipulated by JGY into believing that he was a great and (somewhat) righteous person. LXC was lied to for years, he constantly saw a side of JGY that he believed was the real him for almost 2 decades. So I have no idea how so many of y'all expected LXC to just immediately turn on JGY and to believe that he was such a bad person. Infact it would've made absolutely no sense if he had. Years old trusts and emotional attachments are not easily broken. It's like when your friend is dating someone toxic but they don't know because that person is always so sweet and nice to them. But you're able to see it because you're an outsider and are not the one being manipulated in that relationship.
"Lan wangji just abandoned his brother" NO HE DID NOT. Yes after all the mascara he eloped with wwx. I mean u just reunite with the love of your live after 13 years and happened to be alive ofc he deserves to go enjoy and spending his time with him. For abandoned topics if im not mistaken in the novel (extra family banquet chapter) mention he VISITS his brother to comfort him. Lan wangi is not ungrateful. He loves his brother as much he loves wwx
I keep reading comments about how lxc was left alone at the end of it all but tbh I think he's always got lwj. The Lan brothers are basically as constant as wangxian. In the novel, it was specifically said that lxc accompanied lwj in seclusion and, in the end, lwj returned the favor despite being in his honeymoon stage with wwx. That being said, I'm pretty sure lxc isn't as "alone" as some may think. Sad, yes - just like all the grief and sorrow every other character in the story goes through in the end. It's just that, at the end of the day, that lonesome grief of losing two sworn brothers is something he needs to deal with alone despite the support of his brother and, now, brother-in-law --> that's what makes it so lonely in the eyes of readers. And, as someone with chronic MDD, it's completely and utterly accurate and I think MXTX did a great job solidifying so many forms of sadness: from Huaisang's revenge, Guangyao's insecurities turned ruthlessness and brotherly betrayal, from Xichen's loyalty and eventual grief (with his constant love for his family) to Jiang Cheng's seemingly indifferent stance to WWX all throughout the series and, of course, Wangji's constant loyalty to his brother and lover and WWX's misunderstood demeanors. But, yes, I, as a fan, am here to keep MDZS wounds from closing. Imma cry for all the character's stories now. Carry on.
@@IceQueen975do you really understand what you're reading or did you read it at all? if they didn't leave they would only anger LQR, they just did a detour no one abandoned someone here that would be OOC. and LWJ isn't someone who would totally abandon his family he would choose both as much as possible.
That ending was so heartfelt. I felt so bad and when the sound cut off and Lan Xichen falls the word 'stays' in the silence comes to mind immediately. And made the ending that much worse.
Me: *sees two birds and twin jades in the title* Me: Haha, I'm in danger ((I love chubby young lwj, so cute!)) the shift of focus at 0:37 was a nice touch, it really shows how lwj got farther away as you pin more focus on xichen. That turn was really well animated as well! The quick flashes, as xichen's faces both his sworn brother's deaths at different directions and then not facing forward with lwj?? I didn't cry, but I certainly felt the loneliness without the release, which is the perfect feeling to be left with well done, this was good ;v;
nOnoNoONonOnoNO. yes, i'm hurting in levels I didn't even know existed. it is actually a pretty accurate yet painful edit, and I just wish I could hug lxc because he had to grow up watching the kind of toxic relationship their parents had (lwj too), became the model of a sect known to be more than strict just to be the one person who can't make a single mistake, lost his uncle, his home was burned to the ground, found a person he trusted with his soul, but was the one who betrayed him in the most abominable way, lost his sworn brother and in the end, killed his confidant, left again with the doubt if he did the right thing. he's one of the strongest and extremely hurt characters and deserves so much more recognition. but i'm sorry this was too boring! sorry. just thank you for making such an amazing animation with so much meaning and artistic talent.
Damn no. Im someone who totally agree with you. Im glad people speak about these character who is not focused most of the time. He is that person who gives everything they have and end up hurting the most. It was very sad because he had two friends-sworn brothers. One died miserably and the other betrayed him in the most hurtful way possible. He didnt have anyone else to rely on. I imagine he returned from his seclusion healed and possibly lead a happy life afterwards
The title card had me thinking it would be cute twin jades brotherly moments but instead I was emotionally assassinated 😭 but the art and story progression was so dope Im not even mad about it 👌🏽😊💕
There is just so much emotion and so much of LXC’s pain packed into this little animation. LWJ trusted someone absolutely and got happiness. LXC trusted someone absolutely and got betrayal and heartbreak. Very powerful little piece.
I know that’s not the point here, but I am obsessed with JGY’s expressions. Just every of them feel like a stab, like a big, disgusting hurt that makes your stomach drop - bitterness of lxc’s “betrayal” in his eyes at 1:04, the way he smiles, the way it hurts lxc further The way the song hits - he really wants to let go, but he can’t, he just can’t, it’s too much. lwj, his little brother, of whom lxc was always concerned, has moved on, has found himself, but lxc c a n ‘ t I love this animatic, really. Your drawings made the song feel even worse, like putting a pound of salt on a mdzs-shaped wound in my heart Thanks for it :^)
tHIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING!!!! your skill shines wonderfully here, you really captured the emotion of the song well and expressed the emotions of the characters masterfully. the expressions were gut wrenching and the song flowed perfectly with the animation. i always felt like this song matched the twin jades and you did an amazing job of capturing that. also, the way lan xichen crumples in the end there is so heart-wrenching like,,, wow. ugh i just love this sm!!! ur amazibg!!
as sect leader and elder brother of Lan, lxc is more tightly bound to duty. lwj can go off and travel with the love of his life, while lxc has to stay and help pick up the pieces of a cultivation world without anyone to lean on, his two sword brothers being dead and all. this animatic really captures that dynamic and i am UPSET
Oh my this is just wonderful! I love your angles and cinematography! It’s just aa, it’s so lovely! I’m unsure if you plan on making more animatics in the future but, I can’t wait to see what you do next!
Gosh this is just so amazing and I mean that with all ny heart. You are literally pulling at my heart here. I am now reminded of this whenever I listen to this song and I honestly have to stop myself from crying because of all the emotions this makes me feel. So, in conclusion, you did a wonderful job. And Lan Xichen deserved better.
sobbing rn, STOPP XICHEN NOOOOOO MY BBY 😭😭😭 On a note, this animatic was done extremely well, and the fact that you cant see LXC’s face at the end makes it even more tragic and sorrowful. Now im gonna rewatch this several times.
Hi I just wanted to say amazing job on this animatic it’s so expressive And yes I often think about how lan xichen feels after everything btw I love that you gave nie huisang freckles.
Tbh LXC is one of my absolute fav characters in this series and it's honestly sad how we never got a proper conclusion to him after JGY's death Also he's just a great guy, justice for this poor man
How is it every time i watch this i keep picking up different things and some how get SADDDERRRRR! For the love of everything good in this world please become a cinematographer or big budget animator because your cinematography and choice of editing is fucking so on point i want to see MOREEE! (like whenever you get the chance bc i dont wanna put pressure on you) BUT GOD YOU DID A FANTASTIC JOB AND I CANT GET IT OUT OF MY HEADDDD
@@nikudons8565 Hell yeah!! I can't wait to see what you work on because i know it's gonna be amazing! Keep going with your art man, it's really great! I'm excited to see where life takes you
I saw this utterly beautiful and melancholic edit on Instagram and saved it, I used to re watch it and cry everyday and then I forgot about it for few months and then suddenly I heard this song in a different reel and what I felt was utter depression and felt as if my heart got squeezed out of my body. I closed my eyes trying to figure out wtf happened And all I could see was this edit I saw months ago. 😭😭😭 man I'm crying so hard I.... No body who haven't watched the untamed can understand any of this heart wrenching pain
this animation it's so beautifuuuuuul and so painfuuuul omg. This video makes me realize that the only ones that got a happy ending were wangxian but the other characters never got one :'(. A year has passed since I saw the drama and I can't get enough of this story really, I miss them so muuuuuch. The part where lxc face can't be see it, it's heartbreaking :(((. I love it, this is actually a masterpiece
You all are saying that Wangxian is a happy ending, but if we reflect on the story deeper, y’all know that nobody was actually bad and there’s not actually a happy ending. You know that every character had its reason to do the things they did, some were just twisted due to their lives’ experiences and couldn’t differentiate between right and wrong, but they weren’t purely bad at heart, they just wanted to fill the gap of doubt, betrayal and resentment. Their actions aren’t justifiable because they were absolutely wrong, but we can comprehend how they got to their conclusions and it’s just so sad that nobody actually could have a proper conversation with them about what’s going on their minds, full of demons. MDZS does not have a happy ending because although Wangxian is like the absolute comfort to our main couple, they still have to deal with their own personal traumas. WWX lost his all in his past body, everything he’s protected, gone. And he didn’t even actually make up with Jiangcheng nor JinLing, who were the only ones left from his adoptive family. Lanzhang on the other hand, we never get to see if he actually had other worries or hurtful thoughts than the ones which where about WWX during the 13 years of WWX death, however I’m pretty sure he had to rebuilt his sect while mourning for the lost of other disciples during the burnt of the same, as well bearing with the lost of more members of his family such as his uncle. I think that MDZS was a very well written story and very realistic bc people are never just naturally bad, but they think in a different way due to their own experiences through life, and I’m pretty sure that the ending is realistic as well, with not real closure, just the smiles of our main couple, who had to go through so much to end up together. A bright, happy, sad smile. LXC deserved better though, he really did.
