Zhuiling would be werid because wei wuxian and jiang cheng are brothers wei wuxian basically has an adopted son whole jin ling is the child of his sister

I'm not tryna be rude or me bc I also do/ used to ship them but like: Wei Ying kinda adopted Sizhui, and Jing Ling is Wei Ying's nephew.. so somehow that's incest right..? I mean I know that Wei Ying doesn't actually share blood with either of them. But just because my step sister doesn't have my blood, doesn't mean I'd date her.. and Wei Ying doesn't share blood with Jiang Cheng but still they'd never date. You just don't date relatives, even if there is no blood relation (unless you are Jing Guangyao)

"No weird ships" you said, continues to put in Jiang Cheng with lan xichen who are essentially brothers-in-law since they are wei wuqing and lan Wangji's siblings and then adds Lan A-yuan with Jin ling who are cousins because of a-yuan's dad being sibling with Jiang yanli. gonna paste someone else’s wonderful reply to you: wei wuxian was never adopted. He was jiang cheng's sworn brother it's a yi bond relationship. Only when yi bonds are removed does the relationship become familial. Especially since the story is set in ancient china sworn brothers are not equivalent to adopted brothers, they are two individuals bound by loyalty and duty. Also lan sizhui was never adopted by wangxian formally even if he saw them as parental or older brother figures that's fanon. So really there's nothing wrong with the ship. xicheng and zhuiling are two of the most popular ships (after wangxian) so you’re going to have to deal w it if you think they’re weird ships 😭

They took him in as their own, they all grew to love each other, even if they aren't blood related they are still family, they are not "sworn brothers" yes they aren't blood related. And in those times I highly doubt that you had to fill out paperwork to have a child live in the same house as you, aka, adopt a child, and even if the same principles did appy, don't you think they would fill it out, because how else did Wei Wuxien live there? Even if they are the head family of the Jiang clan sect they would still write it up for the finishing touches if you will. And adopting a child in those times were different to now and I doubt they would have to do anything other than sign and pay, but obviously they didn't buy him from somebody, they found him and took him in and treated him like their own, except madam yu. And sworn brothers dontt usuall live together, they are just close friends, but Wei Wuxien and the Jiang family are so close as if they were blood related. If madam yu gets so much hate for not giving Wei Wuxien motherly love, then why do you say she wasn't his adoptive parent, yes she was horrible and the things she did wasn't right in any way, but she wasn't his mother nor did she wants to be his guardian in the first place. Besides, I know they are the most popular ships, I'm not telling people not to. Ship what you want idc, but I'm just saying, it's kinda weird since they are related even if it's not by blood, so don't say no weirsld ships in the title.
