Oh Thank God. I was going through my Mum's Cassettes to put them on the Digital format. There were so many she couldn't remember the names of. This was one of them. Found it at last. AMEN Good Song too

I have to do a little research because I've never even heard of this group. I like them, but.....I can't call it. I don't know how I missed them if they came out in 1993. That's my favorite year, musically. Good song though.
I knew about the song, Want U Back. for about 30 years, but never knew who sang it or what it was actually called (being in the UK and having to rely on imports back then). Finally found it and saw that they had stiff competition from Hi-Five, which is way they probably didn't go further.
Remember this LP, almost passed on it at the record store because that cover was just so damn WACK. Cross colors and bright ass jackets was already on its way out at the point. It was by luck that the girl behind the counter had it on the speakers so I picked it up. Not a classic but had it on replay for a couple of weeks at least.
Still play this to this day. Can't remember which guy goes with which voice though. Anyone out there remember? Voice from 2:50 on can sound dead on Johnny Gill at times. Does anyone remember who that is?
First of all, the music video for this song is on RU-vid simply search "Me-2-U - All Night" and you can find it. Secondly, his name is Anthony/Tony. He's the one on the far left wearing yellow in the picture. He was also in the group Prophet Jones and he sang leads on songs like "Cry Together".
It definitely sounds like R. Kelly could have wrote this, though. The chord structure and arrangements have the same feel as other songs he's written for Hi-Five (Quality Time, A Little Bit Older Now), and Aaliyah (Age Ain't Nothin' But A Number), etc.. And, Actually R. Kelly sounded great back then.
I disagree. R Kelly definitely had a distinct sound during this time. I think the closest sounding to R Kelly that wasn't produced by him is Til the Cops Come Knocking by Maxwell.

No it wasn't. Not everything should be geared towards him. Ijs. The song was written by Daryl Gaines who produced an arranged the song. The group is from D.C. an 1 of the members was Stacy Lattisaw's brother.
