Both the novel and the movie will always have a special place in my heart. I was reading this weeks before my dad suddenly passed away. I remember enthusiastically telling him what this novel was about. Months later I got my very first tattoo which says “live boldly,” a line that impacted me so much. ❤

The film's not out yet but through the trailers and this, I feel like the characters are just reading lines to each other with fake facial expressions, definitely not real at all. TBH quite disappointed :( Orrr that's just me like Emilia as Daeny and Daeny only!! And come on, Matthew's too cool to be Running man!!!!!

as a disabled screenwriter myself, in a short word, no. when you have these films about people in accidents or illnesses ('the theory of everything) especially if you have flashbacks of when they were able bodied, it doesn't work to cast a disabled actor. you would have to cast an able bodied actor for the flashbacks and it takes the viewer out of the film.

I am a disabled screenwriter too (well, i'm trying to ^^) and i totally understand that it is not possible with these kinds of films. But, for exemple, i saw a great movie a fiew days ago called Margarita with a Straw (i don't know if you've heard of it), which tell the story of a young woman with CP (i have CP so i really wanted to see that). When i was watching it, i was sure that the actress actually had CP, and then i found out she hadn't. I think they really could hire disabled actors to play in these movies. Do you agree ?

yes in that case i completely agree. if you're going to show a birth defect (or something that happened that young) there's no excuse.
