@christhomson76: I had become estranged from a guy who passed away on 6/10/20. We were both rockers and huge Springsteen fans. There are things which constantly remind me of him; I’ve come to realize how incredibly important he had been in my life. I miss him terribly and wish we had patched things up. I certainly don’t know the reasons why ur both estranged, family dynamics are different from those between even close friends but I hope u and ur son can somehow work things out so neither one of u will have any regrets as time passes.
First time I ever heard them I was on a road trip going thru Bonanza Oregon(yes folks it exists) and was just wowed,I remember the original tune as a kid, free sandwich to caller 4 at such and such deli...man that lil' station ha diversity!...
I think the first time I saw this video was on punk-o-rama tv in '98 when I met my now wife. It still fucking rocks and it still brings me back to getting hot and heavy in the back of my '71 Chevelle. Good times. The best of times!
Me and my friend went to the bar, drank every possible drink there was, got ridiculously drunk and had the best night ever, because of how elegant Spike's holding his drink in this video. Thak you Gimme Gimmes!
@myroomstudios & @glamkitten24 - they are a punk supergroup of sorts made up of members from NOFX, Lagwagon, No Use for a Name, Swingin' Utters to name a few. Those bands all have original songs which are awesome. These guys came together specifically to do covers.
Not sure if uploader can change the description or if it's auto-generated by youtube, but it credits John Denver as the song writer instead of Kenny Loggins
+peter haha And the fact that half the time when Spike is on stage the lyrics behind him are to a different song makes it pretty apparent, as well. Yep, the derp is strong with Bruce.
Yeah I understand all that haha I just think like the video is made to suggest that spike goes in there and just blows the roof off with this epic rendition, as if that is what we are listening to. Like to me the narrative of the video (audio and video) is - spikes goes to little random karaoke place and holy crap listen how epic he is. So I feel the video may imply that some of the footage is him singing the audio we are hearing. I mean they have gone to certain lengths to sync his performance with the studio audio you hear. And yes, obviously I am aware that we have the technological ability to put video and audio from different sources to create ....*gasp*... a music video! I just thought the video was perhaps a little misleading. Not that I dislike anything about it.
