Time lapse painting with abstract acrylic background. I used paint pens to draw Tiki style characters over the background after I cut it into three pieces.
yeah not the most accurate title thanks for your suggestion. I used 3 different paint pens in this clip. The sharpie poster paint is water based and cracks over time with poor adhesion. The Decocolor is a little better opacity but has a strong odor and clogs a lot. The third pen was Mototov and I like it the best out of the 3 them. It's refillable, no odor, and flows better. Posca has good flow too but I don't think the paint in those pens are as permanent as the Molotov and should probably be sealed after using them. Keep the nibs clean and dry and they should work well. Happy drawing! My apologies for the misleading title. I changed it to your suggestion let's see if that gets me to 40 up votes!
I'm honestly not too sure. I would do a little test. Paint a bit of acrylic let it dry and then do a little bit of drawing over it and let that dry too. Then try to wipe the maker off with a rag.
I've tried lot of different paint pens and my favorites are Molotow and Posca the Molotow are more permanent than the Poscas but the Poscas flow better. I do all my drawings on paper first then resize them on my computer to fit the size of the canvas or panel. Then I print them out and use white Seral transfer paper and basically draw over my printed out sketch to transfer the image to the panel. It's quick and clean. White transfer paper only works if you have enough color as a background and once your done outlining with marker the white lines can be erased with wet qtips or brushes.
