the 12L specifies how much moisture it can pull form the air a day, not how much it can store. It only holds 2.5L in the tank

Purchased one of these after watching your review. I havent seen any of the usual condensation on the conservatory window's and the small amount of damp in the hallway hasn't returned. So far so good. 👍

FYI this unit is “designed in the UK” but made in China - I know this as I own one and it’s stated on the label on the rear of the unit, despite the big Union Jack flag on the box. Just clarifying this as you said it’s “a British product” which might make some think it’s made in the UK

That 5 year warranty is great but it's only as good as the company's customer service. So this will certainly test how good the product is if it stands the test of time without any problems and if there are any problems will test how good Meaco Arete is and their ability to deal with problems. I will be purchasing one.

You didn't state that you don't have to install/ buy HEPA filters for this dehumidifier to function.

but without a filter it will catch up a lot of dust into it. i think you can cut out cheaper filters but without anything for the dust its not the best thing to do.

His often do you need to empty the 2.5l tank ??? I’m thinking about putting it on the landing of a 3 bedroom (1bathroom) house but not sure if I should get the bigger 25 liter version. I don’t want to be emptying is every 4 hours.

It depends on humidity levels. I find every 8 hours is suffice.

Do you think this would be suitable to use in a car? Mine is super damp; I’d use an extension cable and leave there for an hour or so. I know that’s not an easy question to answer but just thinking out loud really!

It would pull the damp out. My worry would be it drying out the rubber seals. Maybe check with the car manufacturer to be on the safe side.
