Here is the Maurice Salad recipe I have that I was telling you about. I have prepared it several times like this. Enjoy! Dressing: 1 1/2 tsp onion juice (I finely grate onion and it works just as well) 2 tsp vinegar 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice 1 1/2 tsp sugar 1/4 tsp dry mustard 1 1/2 tsp dijon mustard 1 cup mayonnaise (don't use miracle whip) 2 Tbsp parsley 1 hardboiled egg, finely chopped pepper and salt Salad: Romain lettuce, torn 1-2 pieces of 1/8" thick ham, julienned 1-2 pieces of 1/8" thick turkey, julienned 2+ pieces of 1/8" thick cheese, julienned 4-5 large gherkin pickles, sliced medium thin 1/4 cup green stuffed olives, chopped Mix first 6 ingredients well and then combine with mayo. Add parsley, egg, salt and pepper. Place in fridge and chill. Toss the romaine lettuce, turkey, ham, and cheese together with the gherkins and olives. Make sure you julienne the meats and cheese as this texture best suits the salad. Top the salad with the dressing and re-toss. Serve chilled.
Good afternoon Heather. One thing I discovered this year while canning was to use 4 quart, and 4 pint and a half jars in my pressure canner. It gives me a variety of sizes for different recipes! Seems like such a simple thing but makes a difference. 8 vs 7 meals! It only took me 50 years to discover this, Ha!Ha! Thought it might help someone else. It’s just 2 of us but with children and grandchildren I need versatility. Thank you for continuing our meal planning journey. That is such fantastic advice!!!!! There is nothing worse than having to open 2 pints because you need a quart.....I always think ugh, I am wasting a lid! hahahaha

It takes so much stress off......having to think every night, what can I make? what do I have? what needs to be used? I like just sitting down ONCE and figuring all of that out, then going on auto pilot for the rest of the week. hahahaha

Your meal planning is such an inspiration. I’m slowly starting to stock my new chest freezer we purchased last week. This week at Kroger there is a sale on butter for $2.49 a pound, so I bought 6. And then they had BOGO seasoned pork loins, so I got 4 of those. So now I can start building up from here! Crock pot pork loin on the menu for this week!

It's helpful to me because I can focus better when someone shows/ explains things. Yet 35 years ago, I did everything easily I think it's probably because I'm on my own and don't see the point but I think I need to see the point, if that makes sense.
I completely get it.....if nothing else, it will take the stress out of having to think about "what do I cook for dinner"....you will already have a plan in hand!
