Make batches of chili, curries, lasagnas, shepherd's pie, stew and freeze little portions so you will have variety over the week. Although I could see how your meals could be seasoned with a different sauce , wrapped inn a tortilla or added to a green salad with vinaigrette to present it a different way. I also have a Ninja Foodi and it is amazing. It is efficient, doesn't warm up the kitchen, I am going to use the regular oven only in winter to bake cookies and make the kitchen warm and cozy. The Ninja saves energy and can be washed in a flash.
@@Jade-fs9kh It depends what meal you have. For chilis and stews I would use the microwave, just force of habit for me. If your meals are frozen in INDIVIDUAL portions in plastic, I would remove them from the plastic , place them on the bottom and use the roast setting . If you froze them in aluminum or metal, I would again remove them from the the metal since you dont want to scratch the Ninja bowl and would again use the roast setting at 300F for 20 minutes and check once in awhile. If you froze fajitas, I would warm the meat first and then put them in a tortillas. The main thing is to try and you will discover what suits you, the Ninja is still an oven and frozen meals can be put in an oven right away, unless you froze them in corning ware.
@@Jade-fs9kh Alternatively, if you freeze portions in a metal container , you could warm them up on the wire rack provided with the Ninja, that way you dont scratch the non stick pan and basket. I am still experimenting with the Ninja, the possibilities are endless.
@@chapman1569 that helps me SO much thank you!! A lot of them will be individual meals because 2 of the people I cook for (myself included) are autistic and my mum is diabetic so needs her dinner at a set time every day and this will help loads! I usually freeze in ziplocks or plastic containers if I have any. I was a bit nervous as its an expensive piece of kit to accidentally ruin so thank you for the tip about making sure not to use anything that could scratch it! 😁😁
A few things: 1. looks like the thighs were thawed? and have you tried it with chicken breast or are the thighs better? 3: Why not boneless thighs? I am looking for a way to get my healthy food habits back on track and wondered how the Foodi would work for prep. Seems great for it.
This might be a dumb question but never really done meal prep like this before. After cooking and putting into lunch boxes do you reheat or eat those meals cold?
I usually put all my meals into the freezer up until the day before eating them. I'll put my breakfast lunch and dinner into the fridge the day before to let it thaw out, then microwave whenever I'm ready to eat each one the next day. This is the best way imo. Keeps your meals from tasting rubbery and stale if you were to keep them in the fridge all week. Works like a charm, good luck!
