A Meal on Wheels service has become a lifeline to some of Barrow’s elderly and most isolated people with its volunteers delivering not only hearty meal three times a day but also providing company and support.
The service, which is run by University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT), was started in April 2014 with 23 clients on the books growing to an impressive 50 to 66 clients per day.
