I'm confused...if the mean is 3.5...how is a mad of 1.4 closer to it than a mad of 2.4? Isn't 2.4 closer to 3.5 than 1.4.?..someone please explain...thanks!

You don't need to make a dot plot.. just find mean and then subtract the mean with all the numbers in the data set. After you subtract each number from that data set you find the absolute value of the difference. Do that for all the data values then find the mean by adding all the newly subtracted data values and divide them by your original mean from the original data set.

This helps me a lot with my math homework

2+1+1+1+1+1+1+2=10/8=1.25 is incorrect. 2+1+1+1+1+1+1+2=10/8 is the mistake and please fix! 2+1+1+1+1+1+1+2=10 10/8=1.25 please make this distinction. this will create confusion and misconceptions among students, especially when referring to notes or videos.
