This movie is a commentary movir of American scoiety. The sex education isnt even sex education but tries to encourage celibacy. The teacher works 3 jobs cause being a teacher pays poorly. Regina's little sister being unsupervised and watching adult content Theres more but thats what i can name at the top of my head

A movie analyzer on RU-vid once said that the bus scene(s) is a metaphor for someone being out of touch with reality. If someone is still in grasp of what is important, they will notice the bus coming. But if they are so fixated on themselves, they won't see the bus coming.

The patches on the vest are "flair"". In the 90s and early 00s, restaurants like TGI Fridays made their waiters wear them. The teacher was working 2 jobs, which is what it was insinuating. Idk if you've ever seen Office Space, but there's a whole story about it in there about the flair haha

411 is the information hotline called in the USA. you'll often see it on the sides of highways telling you to call if you have questions, are lost, etc. when regina's mom is asking "what's the 411?" she wants all the info! all the hot gossip!

Okay. American High School movies: Grease (1978), Fame (1980), The Breakfast Club (1985), Carrie (1976) and Lean On Me (1989). I can suggest a bunch more if you like; these are all really great. Grease and Fame are musicals. Carrie is a Stephen King adaptation and Lean on Me is based on a true story. So, those are the suggestions.

My prom was pretty similar. The location was different, we had ours in a hotel ballroom downtown instead of in our school's gym, but otherwise the rest was similar. And it was the same year this movie came out!

She was wearing jeans because she didn't know the rules yet so they let her off. 411 = The top stories everyone is talking about. I think they're implying that girls aren't interested in Maths, as a girl I'd say that's not fully true because Maths was one of my favourite subjects at school and I did really well in it. Loads of teenagers think that Maths is pointless because the things you learn in Maths are not required in your adult life. They miss the point though, it's not about what you do it's how much you do. Maths raises your intelligence and makes you smart in general.

Another American high School based movie with the new girl coming in that you should probably see is called John Tucker must die the gist is John Tucker is the most popular guy in school and he's always got multiple girlfriends from different cliques around the school so they don't know each other and he tells each of them their relationship has to be secret because his parents don't let him date during basketball season and then I guess he's in other sports so he can't date during those seasons either and you know none of his other girlfriends will find out

Loved your reaction, it was so fetch!💄 Even after seeing this lots of times I can't decide who my favorite character is. My prom was fairly similar to what's shown in the movie. It was at the Utah State Capitol Building instead of our school gym. There was an opening dance (called promenade) and then everyone gathered around for the crowning of the Prom Court in which yours truly was crowned Prom Queen. My crown was made of metal, so there was no breaking it! Thankfully I didn't have to make a speech! Then there was music and dancing for the rest of the evening. Definitely a good time.

Toaster strudel is an I guess American thing from Pillsbury which is a pastry company where you usually buy things in the raw dough format and bake it yourself but toaster strudels are essentially a frozen answer to Pop-Tarts which you just buy in boxes and most people heat up in their toaster but a lot of people like me just eat them straight out of the pouch but toaster strudel it doesn't have hard pastry it's very soft and flaky and they come Frozen and you put them in the toaster just to heat up to you know melt the inside and make it hot and they don't come frosted like Pop-Tarts either they come with these little pouches of white icing that you put on it after it comes out of the toaster and the icing is still cold from the freezer but it is still a texture that you can squirt it out of the little pouch they are delicious it's been a long time since I had one now I think next time I go to the grocery store I'm going to get a box
