Double shocks for looks and single shocks for performance. I would run it both ways and see how you like it. I think as long as they don't bind up the suspension double is fine. Your very experienced with setting up RC but I have not had good luck with duel shocks on other cars. Unfortunately I don't own a Clod Buster so I really don't know. It does look better. The chassis is absolutely awesome. Great share.
You’re going to love the chassis, and it’s a retro so it’s going to be bouncy regardless, but the weight in the middle keeps it going where you want regardless of what you decide to go with. Can’t wait to see it done! And if you want to race it, go with the JConcepts Silent Speed 27T motors. 👌🏻
Love the build! The clodbuster was my first hobby grade rc and my all time favorite. I found an old Clod recently for $50 and also put on the Jconcepts Regulator chassis and steering links, and rear lockout. I also put on the Jconcepts Golden year tires. I went with the Rc4wd Ignitor beadlocks and traxxas ultra shocks. Currently have dual shocks on each corner but might change it to one as it feels quite stiff. I went with the same body that you did and I added the Traxxas Bigfoot bumpers and roll bar.
Thanks for sharing. I’ve watched this a few times already, and I just noticed that you were able to tuck the steering link that connects the servo horn to the carbon fiber rack. Mine kept popping off whenever I bash a little too hard because it gets snagged for being a little to exposed. I’m just a weekend basher so I use a servo saver. I’d have to look for a lower profile servo to be able do what you did. Thanks again for sharing.
I did the behind the axle steering mod front and back. Good stuff. BTW I believe that brass plate is to allow the truck to qualify for monster truck classes.
@@rcdriver Yeah. I was too quick posting. I might do the chassis upgrade as well, but a bit worried about changing the character of the truck too much since I don’t race it.
I'm still thinking about the chassis for my next Clod project. I'll probably use the hidden steering from JC. That's perfect for my hobby style of driving and will improve the rig. But the chassis in my mind is more for competitions, which we don't have here in Europe. The chssis is great bur for my reqirements it's a little bit kind of overkill. This might be not so over the pond. So thank you for the presentation😀.
What are the advantages of all the aftermarket chassis's? I see they cost alt of money but apart from looking good. What do they do that the stock chassis doesn't?
We’ll see how the front steer works. Using rear steer while at speed requires precision from the driver. Not sure on the links. I’m still wort my Clod parts knowledge. 😄
just got my super clod today, ive heard the steering is atrocious i know there are at axle solutions but is viable to put like a super torque servo in instead?
Looking good! Ive thought about getting that kit for a second clod too! I did the same with my black edition! lol I only take it out every once in a while... It sure is pretty though! great vid, not sure on the shocks. I swapped out old tmaxx shocks to my black edition.
@@adtjtjdjsj why is it unnecessary? I have been thinking of getting a Bruiser or a Clod and modding the chassis. So why wouldn’t I want to know the differences? Why do you have to be so toxic to other people? Are you a troll?
It’s such a sin to put a Ford body or anything ford on a clodbuster. Love the idea of the jconcepts but the cold buster Chevy body still is the best. I’m not a Chevy person by any means either lol definitely not a Ford. It’s more how the tamiya clodbuster worked so well with the original body. Specially tricked out.
I really wanted to build one of these when they were released. So I emailed Jconcepts with a few questions and also about availability for the UK. No answer. So I emailed again two weeks later. No answer. So I waited another two weeks and sent a third email asking a few more questions. No answer again. So I decided to put my money elsewhere.
