READ ALONG TO PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH AND TO LEARN THE MEANING OF GO IT ALONE AND FLY SOLO: So in English when we use the phrase "go it alone" it means that you're going to do something all by yourself. A good example of this could be if you and your brother used to have a business together and you decided that it was time for you to go it alone. That would mean that you decided it was time to have your own business and to run your own business all by yourself. So if you had a partnership with your brother and you and your brother decided to part ways and to start your own businesses you would say that you decided to go it alone. And again that would mean that you're doing it all by yourself. Sometimes at work, maybe you're working on a project, and you decide that you might get more done if you go it alone this time around. So that would mean that you're going to work on the project all by yourself. I think you get the point!
We have another phrase that's very similar and it's to "fly solo". This has almost exactly the same meaning. When you fly solo you aren't actually flying in the air like you are on an airplane but it again means that you have decided to do something by yourself. So another great example, maybe at work there's a new project and they want a bunch of people to work on it but you say, "Hey! I think I might fly solo on this one. I think I might get more done." Sometimes I like to fly solo because when I work with other people I feel like it slows me down sometimes. So, I like to fly solo.
