READ ALONG TO PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH AND TO LEARN THE MEANING OF THE HARD WAY: So in English when you learn something the hard way or when you find something out the hard way it means that you learn something in a way that sometimes isn't pleasant. You don't learn it from reading a book or having learn someone teaching you, you learn it the hard way. A really good example of this would be if you turn on a faucet at a sink and you're not sure if the faucet is for hot water or cold water and then you touch the stream of water that's coming out of the faucet and you burn your hand. We would say that you learned that the hard way, you learned which tap was the hot water tap the hard way because you were injured just a little bit or because you put your hand into hot water. So in life, it is always nice to learn things from other people and to not always learn things the hard way. That's not a nice way to learn things.
Hey, sometimes people take the easy way out. So when you take the easy way out, it means you do something so that it's not a lot of work for yourself. A good example of this would be maybe you are going to a party and you're supposed to bring some food and the idea is that you make some food at home, but instead of making food at home, you take the easy way out and you just go to the store and you buy some cake. Sometimes when am really busy I often take the easy way out cause it's just easier.

- Involving children in household chores with parents is a hard way to learn but helps them gain experience. - Watching Bob's videos on RU-vid is the easiest way to learn English! So I often take the easy way out !

Sometimes doing things the hard way is better than taking the easy way out. In my days of learning programming I found it appealing to grasp new concepts and motivated myself to put more effort into it. It may seem challenging at first but it will pay off in the long run. Hence it depends on the context whether you should do something the hard way.

sometimes i think learning English with Bob means taking the easy way out because your method is easy for me to understand English. But sometimes, i just think there are too many videos in your chanel, and i am learning the hard way. :( . Anyway, thank you so much!!

I learned the hard way that not everyone has good intentions. Or not everyone can be trusted. I learned the hard way that learning languages in Advanced level is a never-ending job :) When it comes to learning languages, people should not try to take the easy way out.

It's just a weird saying similar to, "Well, there you go!" or "Easy as pie!" or "As simple as that!" It's something you say when you explain a simple thing to someone.

I learned the hard way (ITALIAN: CON LE CATTIVE) that starting your own business is tough...nonetheless I like to do things the hard way (ITA.: NEL MODO + DIFFICILE) from time to time ;)-- In any case, I like taking the easy way out (ITA.: LA STRADA + FACILE) too !!! :p
