We don't know where sin came from, the Bible is not clear on this. But what we do know is God does not create robots, He loves His "good" creations to much to take free will. (Ezekiel 28:12,15). And he remained perfect in his ways until iniquity was found in him (Ezekiel 28:15b). What was this iniquity? We read in Ezekiel 28:17, “Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor.” Lucifer apparently became so impressed with his own beauty, intelligence, power, and position that he began to desire for himself the honor and glory that belonged to God alone. The sin that corrupted Lucifer was self-generated pride. Lucifer brough sin to earth and tempted Adam and Eve into sin. With the lie that theg could be like God if they had the knowledge. They ultimately made that choice themselves. Satan did not make them do it. Once that happened sin was brought into the world and it became fallen. the most significant reason that God chose to bring about the flood is that the corruption of man’s heart completely dominated humanity in the days of Noah. God certainly knew that sending the flood would not (and did not) fix the sin problem in man’s heart; after the flood, God observes that “every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood” (Genesis 8:21). In the same statement, God also says, “Never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.” No sin will be in heaven. Will we still have free will, absolutely but all sin is, is a perversion of Gods rewards and promises. People sin for 4 main reasons. Power, Money, Sex, Possessions. All of these things we dont need to worry about in Heaven. Power is not necessary since we will be living in a peaceful place where all are brothers and sisters in love and christ, we wont want money since everything we could ever want is provided. No need for it, we wont have sex because we will be given immortal perfect bodies so there is no need for reproduction, and again we will have everything we need so no need to sin for Possessions. Thats why sin is not in Heaven.
@@elimartin4107 I think the point is not that sin can exist inside heaven literally. Its that with God's perfectness and holiness, it existed and He lets it exist. One of my friend here in church told us in our youth devotion that sin is the absence of God and it is the choice of His creation to submit or sin. Yes. Revelation tells us that God will put all that sinned, death and Satan to the lake of fire. Took him until a third of the angels have sinned, nore than 3/4 of His beloved mankind has fallen into it to put it all into an end. Of course the people who will be in heaven will still have perfect will but will not sin there because reasons. Just some of the things I ponder everyday as a Christian myself.

Christians and Muslims ask "What is the meaning of life?" because they think it's a gotcha question. They have an answer and you don't, therefore their answer is correct. This is silly, of course. They can't prove any of their claims, so they don't actually offer any meaning. They can only offer the illusion of meaning. But at the core of this argument is "I have an answer and you don't," which they think is a slam dunk argument. The problem is they think having answers is what is important. Any fool can provide you answers provided you're not picky about correct answers. What matters is not having answers, but having answers that are independently verifiable. If you are a Christian or Muslim, let me ask you a question: why does God exist rather than not exist? I have an answer to this question and you do not. You see, a giant space goat God into existence. There, I can "account for" everything your answers can "account for," but now I can "account for" one additional thing that you can't. I get asked if I could go back in time would I still make the same choices. Actually I've always thought the question about the meaning of life is extremely easy to answer. What makes it look difficult is that people look for a large, grand meaning, but entirely miss the obvious meaning right before us. It is, in a sense, taught in every biology class. The meaning of life is life itself. That's what makes living material different from non-living material: life creates more life -- that is its purpose, its meaning. It is at once ridiculously simple (which is why most people miss it) and deeply profound. The meaning is recursive. But there is more than one kind of life in the universe. In its quest to perform its primary purpose, some life has evolved a brain. This brings with it a second purpose: to learn. Some animals band together into social groups in order to better their chances of fulfilling life. This brings a third purpose: to help our fellows. This is what we are: we are living creatures who have brains and society. You can immediately, instinctively feel how right for us it is that our threefold purposes are to create life, learn, and help those around us. It is instinctive because those who don't feel this way tended to die out. In us, this ability to learn seems to have few limits. We are a tiny part of the universe, but our ability to extend our senses from the submicroscopic to beyond the galactic, into ultraviolet, infrared, x-ray, radio wave, infrasonic, ultrasonic, and more, means we are, in effect, how the universe learns about itself. You got to sit back and appreciate just how obnoxious the question actually is. Who’s to say there is some objective meaning that every single human lives their life to find out? And what would be the meaning of discovering this meaning? Would it make people better/happier/more productive etc? The way the question is posed already suggests an answer, more specifically leaning towards a ‘path’ that is of course the ‘correct’ way to live. The meaning of life is to discover your own meaning. However in your life there are things that are important to you and give you meaning. It would vary from person to person: Meaning could be looking after your family, learning to play the piano. Even improving your lap time on a race track. Some meanings would seem trivial, others more substantial. How do you find them? I don't think there is a recipe: find out what matters to you an pursue it. I think the key thing is not to let others judge you for your meanings.

Doesn't limit itself to just having offsprings, but also raising and taking care of them, and later helping at taking care of their offsprings - which is the whole concept of "family", and at a larger scale, any form of community. But this is a meaning that his pushed on you by your instincts, not neceserally the one you have to chose. There are people out there who wants nothing to do with their family, and don't have offsprings. Doesn't mean their life is meaningless. It could be argued that the meaning of your life is all about what you left behind you, and how you are remembered.

Our mind just cannot comprehend what it means to NOT exist (either ...yet, or ...anymore), because as long as it is concerned, it always has existed. But for that lack of comprehension - and fear that comes with it - to give birth to an "infinite afterlife"... That's just wishful thinking. Another thought experiment: Suppose life has a "meaning" (i.e., that it signifies something greater than itself). If so, what does that "meaning" mean? If that "meaning" in turn signifies something yet greater, where does it end? And if you insist on a non-contingent "meaning", then isn't that "meaning" meaningless? Life is life. I genuinely believe that, sir. As for our significance... I am not quite as humble as you. I love and am buoyed by the notion that my atoms have been forged in the fusion furnaces of stars BILLIONS of years dead, that atoms from my right hand and some of those of my left were from DIFFERENT ancient stars ! That I, you , every human, animal, plant and mineral are connected in a very real and meaningful sense with the cosmos, from our neighbor next door to the furthest dim, nascent galaxy. Also, we have significance because, so far as we know, we are the only intelligent species existing. Genuinely, without positive evidence, that is true. It's extremely likely that there are others SOMEWHERE in the universe, but we don't know. Maybe the historical sequence of events that happened on our planet which let to the spark of life and then the evolution of intelligence is very rare so that it takes far more than the time so far to occur ? And if that is the case, with the accelerating expansion of the universe and the redshift of light, at some point in the far distant future, maybe in the order of a HUNDRED BILLION years the evidence of the Big Bang that science has uncovered will be completely undetectable for far future extraterrestrial species. This makes us, as the only species intelligent enough to have uncovered this knowledge kinda special and I think means we have an obligation for cosmic posterity to leave a record for the future inhabitants of the universe.
My "meaning of life" is making sure that my genes, which have served the general maintenance of my body reasonable well for almost 70 years by now, live on (partly) in the body of my son, and, with a bit of luck, in his child(ren). Anything else would just be a reenactment of "Groundhog Day"! Boring!

When creationists bring up meaning of life, I like to point at Elon Musk. An atheist who made the goal of his entire life to finally put money to use and not pleasures, every minute of his life is dedicated to change future of mankind for better. A man who made 150 billions in 2020 (horrible year for the most) and became the richest man on Earth. And I can go on with his achievements I appreciate, but I think I made my point. If a man like Elon Musk goes to hell, I'll follow. Pretty sure he can change hell into something even better than heaven.

This is just my opinion... Why theists get mad when it’s suggested or plainly said with conviction that there is no heaven/hell, hence no afterlife? I think the backbone of most religions is death. It’s the final frontier of which no one has returned. It’s a deeply emotional bond that believers have with death because in life, they miss those they loved who are no longer with them. And for themselves, they crave reward, especially if they lived a difficult life for any number of reasons both self-afflicted or not. So, the ultimate carrot dangled before the horse is the idea of a form of immortality, that gives you back those whom you lost whether it’s people or pets, they are both waiting for you “up there.” And.... Not believing denies the dynamic of eternal punishment of those who frankly deserve it. Plus, it removes part of that ongoing fear factor of being good...or else. Both concepts have a deep emotional bond with a great many. It’s the “government” that runs most religions because it revolves around judgement, reward and being reunited with those taken from you. I can understand the seduction of it. To a degree I sympathize; Especially if one is lost to a tragic event like an accident, murder, illness or war. And if it’s a loved one who is also young, well, that creates an even bigger whole that’s never filled, until ya die and go up there, where they are waiting for you. In a nutshell that’s why I think most devout theists lash out at Atheists, our model denies them all of that. I have had theists argue the historic point of view which is what about people like Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, or serial killers like Gacy or Bundy? My response is always the same when a conversation goes there. I simply say that it was then and still is now our job to stop those things from either happening altogether, or limiting those negative outcomes more quickly. They never like my answer because they say it lets them off the hook for eternity, so they get upset. Emotion about death is a very powerful thing. This topic kinda reminds me of “The Matrix” regarding which pill to take. Would you rather be fooled or not? I choose not to be fooled. Just my opinion regarding how I see it.

The meaning of life is pretty much the same as to any of the other animals in this world, with a few added characteristics and nuances 'cause we're sentient beings. But overall is the same. Grow up, mature, work to stay alive, perpetuate the specie and then die. With any luck you did some meaningful stuff throughout and you left that for future generations, but you won't be able to take that with you or transfer that to other lives you think you're gonna have. That's the cicle and always has been.

I want you to propose your best evidence to explain the nature of the universe where not even science can explain. I want you to give me you best evidence into how odd is it that you as not only as a living conscious organisms but an organism that is on top of the food chain as far as intelligence and I know there's other animals that are more intelligent than us but we as a species are far more unique when it comes to technology business economics. I need you to explain the odds of us being here. I want any hardcore wise atheist to answer these questions. I don't think your proposing your theories as facts based on evidence. I believe your proposing it base on ego and from your bad experience because of religion. Ok you said life and the universe does t have a meaningful purpose ok how the fuck were able to find out the mysteries of the universe and nature? You have to admit that there's things that can't be explained and there are things out in the universe that are more intelligent than our understanding.
The meaning of life for Humans is to expand the Human race and to colonize planets, we must become an interplanetary species. Religion drags us back but also does nihilism, we must scientifically and passionately focus on what is ahead of us such as interstellar travel, astro space stations, colonies in space and more. Let us climb the Kardachev scale and focus more on connecting to our universe by being opportunistic about the vast resources that is available to us. ❤
Excellent thought experiment. I think people with kids would usually decide not to take a do-over if it erased the kids as in the movie "Back to the Future." But people with no kids might decide there would be no loss in living life again. Of course, people who truly think they're going to heaven would never take the option, and people who think they're destined for hell would always take the option. For them, it's almost like a get-out-of-hell-for-free card. As an atheist with no kids, I would likely choose the do-over, hoping that I could make use of a chance to live a better life. I like the concept you laid out that "a better life" really means living a life that makes things better for others. As Robert Green Ingersoll said over a hundred years ago: the way to be happy is to make others happy.
