I credit her with my insane knowledge of classic rock lyrics as well as my singing/guitar playing. And I credit Meat Loaf for helping me bring down the house on any karaoke night 😄 RIP to an absolute legend

People said that Meat Loaf would never make it in rock, because if his weight, and he didn't look like a rocker. And in a short period of time he shot straight to the top. My opinion, he's "one" of the best rock performers in rock history. "Bat out of hell" is one of my favorite album's.

When this song hit the airwaves I was 15 years old and stuck in a mental facility because the doctors had convinced my mom that I was faking my headaches because I was depressed. The teens in my ward got so excited when it came on the radio. Everyone would suddenly shift gears and start singing along! It was the weirdest time of my life. I finally got out when I collapsed in the gym and it was revealed that I really was going through intense pressure on my brain. Mom pulled me out immediately and apologized for not believing me.

I recall hearing Meat Loaf’s songs on the radio. Sadly, he was never credited for them, unlike Michael Jackson, Elton John, etc. so, I never know I listened to his songs. I grew up hearing Meat Loaf’s name here and there. Since his passing, I have been listening to his songs, realizing I have heard some of them. I really need to buy his albums.

Who thinks Jim Steinman and Meatloaf were an unstoppable collaboration? Steinman wrote a great soundtrack to GenX and others. Very few composers can take you on a journey without sacrificing music. I don’t know that the future will ever experience this kind of chemistry in music.

I woke up this morning with this song in my head from 30 years ago, so I turned it up and danced with my little girls like crazy. What a timeless classic. It brought tears to my eyes, how much time has passed and I longed for younger, simpler years. Rock on!!!
