This song was a play on Beauty and the Beast with a hint of Phantom of the Opera and Dracula. Meatloaf was the king of Rock Opera. Every song tells a story and takes you on a ride. The tempo changes get your heart racing then slows down then picks you right back up again. The guy was a master.
Meat loaf - one of the greatest rock stars ever. I've seen him for the first time in a movie THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW back in 1997 on a finnish TV - I was 14 years old. Also i have some of his albums on CD's and c-tapes and still looking for the LP's. Meat Loaf bats out of Hell. R.I.P. Meat Loaf 😼🤘
Meatloaf was an amazing singer/performer, but without Jim Stienman, the songwriter, this iconic classic wouldn’t exist. They made a hell of a pair. Paradise By The Dashboard Light will blow your socks off. Found out from someone else’s post the video girl lip synced and another woman sang in I Would Do Anything For Love. Objects In The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are (official video) is a heartbreaker.
Fabulous reaction from the heart - you really need to check out Meat Loaf’s song ‘For Crying Out Loud’ it’s one of the most beautiful love songs and has me crying like a baby at the end.
I truly believe that there isn't a feeling that you can't find a Meatloaf song for, and his music has always been therapy for me. Thank you for this, these reactions are therapy for me. Meatloaf has a huge range, too. He's got humor and passion which make the songs way better than they might otherwise be. I know there are probably going to be a lot of recommendations for his music. Rather than so the usual songs that everyone loves, I'm going to recommend the following: Rock'n'roll Dreams Come Through The Razor's Edge Blind As A Bat Read 'Em And Weep What About Love Cry Over Me Objects In the Rearview Mirror *He also does a really good version of the Celine Dion song "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" While his most popular songs are very good, I've connected to so many of his lesser known songs the most.
Here's a feeling that you probably won't find a Meatloaf song for... It's a complicated one. Anger at a beloved artist for allowing his political views and buying into scientifically illiterate fearmongering take him away from you and every other fan of his, not to mention his family, way before his time. All it took was a few nearly painless shots, keeping a coffin's distance from other people, disinfecting his hands, and wearing face protection, but apparently... he won't do that. For love... For survival... For anything. That stubborn oaf would still be alive if he didn't let some greedy people pushing a false narrative for publicity and book sales and their blind acolytes drip poison in his ears.
@@LongandWeirdName not really sure why you felt the need to get political on a discussion about the man's talent and how wonderful his songs are. Everyone had a choice at that time. I don't begrudge anyone their decision as everyone had to make a decision and deal with the consequences. I'm also not really sure why (judging from the tone of your comment) you are so angry. From some of the phrasing it sounds like you weren't a fan? I may be wrong because I can't read intentions in a random comment if they are not spelled out. I don't care how he died because I didn't know him personally. I do care about his music because I know how great that was. No one will be able to take his spot as my all-time favorite singer and Steinman as my favorite song writer.
@@phoenixfire124 Jim Steinman was indeed a great writer. A genius of evoking emotional response by hints and ommissions. Making listeners dig into their own memories and emotions to interpret his lyrics, thus making them connect more. The technique is probably most noticeable in the It's All Coming Back to Me Now you've mentioned. And giving the chance to cover the song to Celine was a brilliant move. Not my favorite of hers, but close(that spot is reserved for a Horner And Jennings gem known as Then You Look at Me). And Michael(Actually Marvin, but poor fat Marvin can't wear Levi's. If you know, you know.) Aday was a brilliant singer. Sadly, I can't seem to separate the artist and art from the person and get angry at him, the people who tricked him into making that mistake, and wonder what else he'd have given us if he didn't choose to risk it and leave so abruptly. If he was given a chance to record that 2022 album...
@@eddiebready23 what you said was true. 6 big celebs in the span of a month basically. John Madden, Betty White, Bob Saget, Meat Loaf, Sidney Poitier and Louie Anderson. Crazy end to 2021 and beginning to 2022
Much respect for doing this tribute song to Meatloaf - he tells an amazing story. You've got emotional wisdom for one so young when you speak with such passion as you react to songs such as these. Not "corny" at all! Thank You! Keep up the awesome work.
Thanks for the kind comment Maggie. I'm no expert in dissecting lyrics, I just call it as I see and hear it. He had the perfect voice and look for a great song like this. 💯👍👏
Eddie, the end of this video puts me to tears every time. From "I'll never stop dreaming of you every night of my life" till the end. I think of my wife. How adamantly he sings "I won't do that!" after the "screwing around " line kills me. I am so loyal to my wife that I feel that. EVERY time I see this, I bawl
This death broke my heart. My 1st love in highschool was a musician. This song was the 1st song he ever played for me on his uncles piano. His uncle introduced him to A LOT of music that became his influences as he grew up and became the artist that he became. I will always remember him telling me that Meatloaf made him realize that it is perfectly ok to be a musical hellion on wheels lol. My love would tend to refer to himself as a HellHound because while bats are cool...he was scared of heights lolol
Your story could be a teen romance movie, no joke. I never identified with being anything other than unconventional, but Meat Loaf is definitely the guy that defines his art. Thanks for the nice comment miss Bianca. 👍👍👍
She's Marion Raven. any song on the Bat out of Hell album 1, 2,, 3 look at any of his videos. Most, like this one tells a story and is a big production
your sincerity has made me a subscriber today that you for the respect and honest reaction it was a breath of fresh air. stay safe regards from the U.K Sir. xx p.s perhaps check out big bang a korean band especially their rapper T.O.P.
Another of my favorites with Meat Loaf is "Dead Ringer for Love" which also features Cher! It's one of those songs where you just can't sit still, you have to jump up and keep jumping with the song but still has a deep meaning (like when you're deep in your cups and just need someone for the night and they become a 'dead ringer for love')
Great reaction, guy, so authentic and sincere ! Could you soon react to "Objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are" ? It's another Meat loaf's song (of the same album) which is a very emotional one and in which one he describes all the tragedies of his life and childood in an incredible way. Highly recommanded, it'a an incredible masterpiece. Something you'll never forget.
A Meatloaf song I think you would REALLY like and appreciate is Life is a Lemon 🍋 (And I want my Money Back) I am sorry I don't know if there is an actual video for it, but I know the song is here. btw this isn't the full song a few verses especially when the woman is singing are cut out.
Missed out on the Oldies? Listen to The Righteous Brothers 'I Just Wanna Make Love To You' 1965.... Blue-Eye Soul meets Blue-Eye Blues! If you can find an earlier song with that ICONIC BEAT let us know!
Okay, now try "Paradise By The Dashboard Light", but buckle your seat belts first. It is another guy willing to do anything for love, and the girl has her list of things she wants (demands), but the story gets taken a little farther then in this song.
Please, please react to the official video of Objects In The Rear View Mirror, possibly my favourite Meat Loaf song. Really deep, especially when you know his own backstory.
"I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" Video created by the great #MichaelBay with lyrics by #JimSteinman and performed by wonderful rock opera singer #MeatLoaf with backing vocals by #LorraineCrosby and the model in the video #DanaPatrick is something spectacular, It's Like "Beauty and the Beast" with something of "Phantom of the Opera"... #MeatLoaf's unique and unparalleled vocal range in the extended version of the CD "Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell" of 12 minutes 01 seconds leaves you breathless, both the video and the versions in CDs are unique, as was #MeatLoaf with the tenor vibrato vocal register that made it one in a million, unmatched. #MeatLoaf was unique, special and a wonderful human being... You listen to both versions and the Live concerts of the song for hours and no time passes, the talent, the voice, the vibrato of #MeatLoaf... He was a brilliant man he has a special talent... "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" is a masterpiece of the opera rock genre... #MeatLoaf left us an invaluable legacy with his music. .. You will always live in our hearts my dear #MeatLoaf
This was definitely a powerful song. I was never very familiar with Meat Loaf until I saw him on an episode of House. His name intrigued me so I looked him up. Didn't go much further into the research, but this song got me. Gotta get to more of him in the future for sure. Thanks for the comment Faith, much appreciated.
You see loads of Millennials reacting to "Dino Bands"; but you never see Boomers reacting to todays music. I guess that is because no-one wants to see some Geezer say, " WTF is that shit?' and shut it down.
