I luv the comments saying Cobain's solo is better in the nirvana unplugged version of this song. 1. Kurt clearly loved the meat puppets 2. Curt Kirkwood plays that solo from the unplugged version yall like so much
I thought everyone know this.. I love both versions... And both bends.. I don't understand the need to compare everything.. I guess it's the western thing..
I remember buying the Meat Puppets II almost a month after getting Nirvana unplugged. Game changer for sure. So thankful to have been alive during that time.
When he went off on that solo, to me he was doing what hendrix does. Can only express so much in words then do it in sound, personal, you dig? I'm a huge Hendrix fan so I tend to notice others with the same feel of music. Also, at times it looks like Teller is playing the drums lol
I am huge Nirvana fan. I have seen these guys twice in New York City. For all those people who say Nirvanas version is better, you know you're right, but you should give credit to the musicians who composed this beatiful song. I wante rhen to play backwater, but I am guessing Curt didnt want to play it, like the same way Kurt didnt like to play Smells like teen spirit. Respect to both bands.
Ok, I'm pretty sure at the end he was having communication with interdimensional, archonic, godlike beings who can only be accessed through obscure frequencies. I think they're called "Sams."
This sounds SO much better live! Album version just sounded like he was drunk. This just killed it!! Especially excellent work on the guitar at the end.
Someone may have said something like this already, but I find Curt's facial expression hilarious (at the very end of his solo / the song). And what a solo that was!! Took on a life of its own - beautiful!! Thanks!!
Great. Yes he is a great player can tell he was into Pink Floyd and Gilmour atleast thats where I first saw holding a slide that way and going above the fretboard. Cant believe this is the first time I looked them up they are great.
i testi dei fratelli meat puppets sono molto interessanti e profondi, si percepisce una sensibilità straordinaria! ma sentirle cantare dalla voce di Kurt risaltano ancora di più
Brothers meat haha... Love how Nirvana took it and made it their own. I like better than the original even just my particular taste though.. saw the goodness in the songs and made it their own. But when they played with Nirvana on MTV You could see how good guitar player he was then... just check that picking out when he does it on MTV.. Good to see them still playing so many years later with some of their old tracks...
