During the 1920s and 1930s Meccano Ltd was the biggest toy manufacturer in Britain. Did you know that it was invented by a Liverpool man, Frank Hornby?

Sharon Brown of National Museums Liverpool gave a talk at Maghull Library in August 2023 which was excellent.

The 00 gauge model locomotives on display are not Meccano/Hornby. At best one is Triang and two are Triang Hornby or just Hornby. The later two just use the Hornby name are Triang, or latterly, Hornby Hobbies products, which have no connection to Meccano other than the Hornby name.
