Apparently the fail is the age of the person driving a high performance car. The way I see it is they're running out of "customer states" clips so they're chucking in anything to fill time.

I never - NEVER - understand why people do this. It literally has built in overflow/weeping holes for this purpose. Why uncap it? I knew s guy who did this and it did burn him badly. It's just dumb. If for whatever goddamned stupid reason you need to do this (can't think of one) then at least use many rags and cover the coolant reservoir or radiator before attempting to open it. Otherwise, wait! Wait until it cools down.

@@Carhax Once it's already recorded, played back, and the shutter frame rate is taken out of the equation, it will appear like that when slowed down during playback but its not what's really happening. It looks exactly the same when recording and playing back an airplane propeller at varying RPMs, and the airplane engine is NOT suddenly changing directions. It's an illusion, I can guarantee you.

From what I know, Is it possible for an engine to start in reverse for a few seconds, Some old diesel engines do that

@@Carhax Yeah, but most modern engines can't run that way. It really only works with two-stroke engines. Four-stroke engines can't run in reverse at all. It's more than likely an optical illusion.

Also, if you’re doing something like this alone and you have a 4x4 truck put it in 4h, transmission in park (or in 1st and or reverse depending on if you’re on a slope or not), and parking brake on. That way both the front and rear axle are “locked” by the transmission and parking brake.

Here in europe trailers do have a separate parking brake. Just use this.

@@13vex Yep and ?. You watch the belt, you're saying the engine runs one way then goes the other way, then goes back to running the original way at the end. it's an optical illusion

Oil and coolant both circulate through the block and engine head in separate channels. Where the block and the head meet, there’s a gasket (head gasket) that keeps both those channels and the combustion chamber separated. If that gasket blows that can allow oil and coolant to mix, and can also allow one or both to go into the combustion chamber.

@@moody9287 Head gasket failure doesn't usually allow _that_ much coolant to freely flow, though. It can allow flow when things are pressurized, sure, but that wasn't even pressurized. Mechanic was just spraying water into the reservoir and stuff was flowing at the same rate out the valve cover. There's something more catastrophic that's happened to that engine that we can't see in the clip. Given that it's a Mini, my money's on the oil cooler, but it could also be that a big chunk got taken out of the block internally that's left a huge hole connecting an oil and coolant galley.

Is the driver not the one controlling the brake. He was going way too fast while using it. Therefore, he is entirely at fault.

The truck in the clip is a Thirteenth generation F-150. It cannot automatically parallel park. It features parking assistance that will automatically steer the truck, the driver is still in charge of using the brake and accelerating. The current Fourteenth generation F-150 how ever is equipped with an automatic system in which the truck will steer, shift, brake and accelerate. The driver of the truck in that clip was using the system incorrectly.

You missed the point. It wasn't about the rust, it was that the car has 3 disc brakes, and 1 wheel has a drum brake.

@@SmallKittyPaw Echoing da1ve468's comment. You can't just slap a disc on and call it a day. Drum vs. disc are radically different assemblies. What likely happened was the car needed an entire new rear wheel assembly, and the one that was sourced for the repair had the other type of brake on it, because that particular model existed during the transition period where cars switched from having rear drums to four wheel disc brakes. Automakers made a big deal about it in their advertisements at the time when different models got the rear discs because it has the image of the car being sportier; only high performance cars of the time had all wheel disc brakes.
