Not a fun job, but can be accomplished by DIY mechanics. Be patient and allow yourself plenty of time. The old seals can be driven out of the case with a very small drift pin/punch, just be careful not to damage the bearings or the case. Before installing the new seals put a light coating of grease or vaseline on the seals and in the case to ease the install, plus it gives the inner part of the seals a little lubrication for initial start up. It is very important to drive the new seals in squarely as to not damage or distort them. Sockets will work as a seal driver if properly sized. I used an OTC seal driver for the oil seal and a 1" socket for the mechanical seal. I used the beam of a boxed end wrench clamped horizontally in my vise to engage the slotted end of the impeller shaft and had an assistant hold the case while I removed/reinstalled the impeller with a 12mm deep well socket. Take it slow and carefully and you will get it done correctly. The annoying oil drip from the water pump weep hole will be cured. Good luck!
I did this job today and unfortunately the hardest parts are left out of this video, i.e removal of the mechanical seal and oil seal. To get the mechanical seal out, I heated the seal up with an electric hot air gun (on the lower setting), put it upside down on a block of wood and then tapped it from the engine side with a 8mm diameter metal rod. It took a few goes of heating and hammering at different points to remove. I think the heat softens the blue glue/sealant around the mechanical seal making it easier to remove. To remove the oil seal, I used a "Seal Puller Tool" from ebay. (it looks like a claw hammer on both ends) I used the more hooked side to claw the seal out and used a thin bit of wood to protect the case metal. I coated the outside and inner with grease and then drove the oil seal in by lightly tapping around it using the 8mm rod until it was flush with the case. I used a 1" socket to drive the mechanical seal till it was against the case. I torqued the pump impeller to the manual's torque of 10nm and then reassembled.
Hello Sir, Why my cbr250 wobbles at high speed (70kms and above when no hands on handlebar)? It has done only 12000km and has a very good service record. Is it because i changed fork oil and seal after a leakage? Please recommend a solution. Thank You
While having the crack case cover off I found a little circle spring. I have no idea where it came from and I cannot find it online, does anyone know where this would come from? I don't see it in this video either
@@shreebykepoint so I found it, it was the inside of the oil seal. When I went to start knocking it out it somehow dropped it into the case but I didn't see it do it
Bom dia sou do Brasil você pode me passar as dimensões ou medidas do selo mecânico que você está trocando eo presiso trocar o retentor de óleo e não sei se dá pra trocar sem estragar o selo obrigado
@@shreebykepoint I checked the inspection hole. Coolant is not leaking from there. The coolant leaks from only one bolt of water pump cover only when the engine is really hot and the radiator fan is on. Sir please tell if it is a mechanical seal issue.

@@shreebykepoint bought one today at ₹2025. It was also written "made in Japan". I felt it was sooo expensive that i cried while i was installing the mechanical seal and oil seal by myself..
@@shreebykepointThanks. Well, i bought a used 2016 Red Honda CBR250R from a friend. I had changed the coneset, rear suspension linkage bearings, wheel bearings, changed the fuel filter and i had planned to upgrade the engine to 285cc by using the CB300R Crankshaft, cams and ECU and upgrade the clutch but due to the pandemic and frequent lockdown i haven't been able to do it. Will be trying it for next year.
Hello sir, your video is very useful. I want to talk to you regarding my CBR 250 coolant leakage from beneath the engine exactly below the radiator pump. Kindly share your email or mobile no. Kindly reply to my message . 🙏
