im happy that this video talks about what i was born with i have triple x syndrome and tbh even tho im only 16 it made extremely hard to work in social environments at least i learned what happened before i was taken out so thank you.
I know someone with Turner Syndrome and she looks completely normal. Only thing is, she looks younger than her age and won’t get taller. She is 12 and looks 9/10.
I have Klinefelters syndrome. I have had trouble with learning all my life. I could have used those extra IQ points. I found out I had this condition at about 30 years old when my wife and I were trying to have a baby. I tested positive for klinefelters syndrome with a mosaic alone with Azospermia. I also have to take testosterone injections. The hardest thing for me was not being able to have children. But have heard that scientists have found a way to turn off the X chromosome in mice. Have you heard this? Can this be true?
Mice turn the X chromosome completely off, but for humans, humans turn off the X choromosome 75-85% off, so some genes are still active like example the ones on PAR1 and PAR2 , SHOX gene is active within this region, meaning XXY has 3 SHOX genes active at one time. Turning off the X chromosome completely like in Mice, would mean genetically editing in some genes that completely disable the second X chromosome, which is likely long years away still.
at which stage does it die? I mean does progress to be a blastocyst ,for example, or all (OY) just die at the stage of zygote and the zygote doesn't multiply anymore?
I don’t understand the x inactivation concept. It doesn’t account for the difference in frequency of x linked genetic phenotypes between male as no females. For example females have a much lower incidence of color deficiency than males because the involved gene in on the x and genes have 2 X chromosomes only one of which requires the normal color gene. If so both Xs must be functional.
I’d be ugly female lol The xxy is Caroline cossey (however you spell her name) I had to study her around 2008-2009 that’s when I noticed they were trying to give awareness to this problem
