@@angryktulhu alright, lets both pretend to be adults for a moment about this. yes, their style and output has changed drastically from the first albums to where we are now. i could make the argument that being on a constant change grind is what made mechina what it is in the first place, and stopping with that leads to the inevitable demise of all creativity, not just with music. if you are angry about the spirit of the music having somewhat changed i actually fully agree with you. though, your original xenon album isnt going anywhere.
@@Hydrogenium1 last 3 albums sound almost the same. With a few little exceptions, I won’t even be able to tell which album a song belongs to, if you just randomly play one of them to me. Mechina is not changing, they’re stuck in that pop metal state
@@angryktulhuI mean hey, if I could release basically the same track over and over again and still sell, I'd consider doing it. But yeah I remember back when new releases actually meant there was something new to look forward to
@@steveng6721 idk even tho I’m kinda mad that Joe decided to kinda abandon this band, I still respect him and his decision. I don’t think he’s only doing it for the money. That’d be just too disappointing for me 😂 If you’re right the next album is gonna be EDM shit or smth lol. Like what ex sybreed guitarist was doing
@@OsbordPlunky I literally mentioned things that lack in recent albums. Music isn't just totally subjective "I like or dislike it" thing. There's music theory. If you learn at least some basics, you'll see that the last albums are way more primitive from objective standpoint. Even lack of growls, you don't even have to be musician to understand that. I don't care if you like or dislike the latest albums, I have my right to give feedback, including negative one. Deal with it
Making this song the followup to "Blessings Upon The Field Where Blades Will Flood" really reframes this song as a heartbreaking dramatic tragedy, and I think that's kinda brilliant.
It reframes that song to be much more soul-crushing too. Andara just wanted her daughters to live a life happy, and in peace, and look where they end up, instead
I don't think growls woulda fit in this one honestly. This feels like a personal and heartfelt message from Andara to her daughters. It makes sense for there to be now growls
Any song that comes out that doesn't have growls get a comment like yours. It's okay to have balance within an album. Definitely better without them on this track :)
That's probably my fave track by them by far. So much depth and variation. I like Mel a lot but I feel the more recent tracks with her are very monotonous. I thought this would be more of a companion piece (melodically) to that single than it is :/
your music is one of the few things that make me feel truly alive. your music is more than just music to me. sometimes it seems to me that through your music I can communicate with the Universe, no matter how strange it may sound. your music is the personification of my inner world. your music is the only music that can make me cry. please never stop.
I love you so much. This band has a really special meaning in my life. I have been following you guys since 2006. Overwhelming as always. Can't wait for your new release!
This song feels like seeing an old friend after a long time - those galloping guitars and drums are oldschool Mechina deliciousness. Yet the song feels fresh and modern. This is rock solid! And if there was ever a case for AI art being used well, this video is it!
Beautiful track guys! Wasn't expecting this but very pleasantly suprised. The Progenitor and Embers eras are my favorites in the storyline and I'm so glad to see it make a return. Very much in need of something that gives that kind of hope against all odds vibe. Seriously the best stuff you guys write is this right here. I like it and gladly support it, and would be very excited to see this as the theme of the next album. Andara is one of those characters that really could save the world in how her heart goes out to her people. I always love her story ❤ Survival in space in all its perils and triumphs, and expanding more on this human spirit and will to survive in the early days of Acheron would definitely make for an amazing spiritual successor to these albums. Thanks for making my day a bit brighter with your music! 😊👍
It's their band, but honestly I think it would be fair for the fans to give an official announcement that they are going to change the musical style so drastically and they are not going to go back, not to keep us waiting for nothing. this way without any announcement it feels like a slap in the face once a year album after album, waiting for symphonic industrial metal with 2 vocalists and 3 voices, just to learn it release by release that it's still completely different band under the same old name.
I wouldn't say it's too dissimilar to earlier material I reckon it's just not what you were expecting or hoping for, especially after BUTFWBWF which was definitely an indication that the old style isn't done away with.
I am glad to hear Andara again. Thank you Mechina! I still believe you are time travellers from the time of the last fight of Enyo's and Alithea's armies
Do an album that brings it back to Internecion levels, i love all your jams but it'd bring a sparkle to my eye to see all the haters melt who think you lost your heaviness.
*Looking at title* Wow, this has to be amazing! *Looking at song length* Oh yeah! *Listening to introduction* That's what I have been waiting for! *Listening to minute 5* Fuck...
So, I think it's an improvement from the monotony of the last few albums, but I noticed you guys still employed that really droning (and frankly kind of boring) orchestral 'ambience' - it's really played out and I'd really like some distinct instrumentals. Contrary to that, I LOVE the synths - I think they're a fantastic addition to the song, precisely because I can hear them as distinct elements. I actually like Mel utilizing more of her vocal range in this track, but the over-processing effects on her voice makes it hard to really hear how good her voice is. I think that moving forward you could consider trying to let her natural voice shine through - it's really good. A lot of complaints here about Dave not growling, but those people are focusing way too much on it. I still think that you guys seem to be way too afraid of being experimental, but this track is in fact pretty experimental. The upbeat and almost poppy guitars and time signatures make this a very refreshing listen, even if I'm not the biggest fan of the overall composition. My biggest complaints have been what they've always been: it's too monotonous, is too safe, and most of all lacks distinct (or at least identifiable) orchestral or symphonic elements beyond a vague 'droning' sound. I think I can hear some strings somewhere, but they're so overshadowed by the droning that if they're there, I can't make them out - contrast this to Anagenesis where the violin, the big pounding drums, and the clear auxiliary instruments which I don't know the name of are omnipresent throughout the song. It also seems like you're choosing to play it safe and produce a safe and predictable Mechina sound, but have sort of forgotten what that sounds like. We don't just want 'spacy sci-fi ambience + riffs", we want thoughtful composition with engaging orchestral instrumentation. You HAVE to have noticed that you get THE MOST praise and attention from your songs that deviate from the norm you've established, and that's for good reason. It's like you've simply lost your essence, and many of the commenters here share that opinion. I also know that you've been told that Mechina peaked with [Acheron > Progenitor > AETTD] and while I would never say that because I do not want you to feel like you've peaked and therefore there's no reason to keep making music or trying to do new stuff, you've seldom come close with but a few songs here and there, and never with an entire album. I want you to surpass your best material with EVEN better material, and making more of the same is an exercise in frustration to a lot of your fanbase. I am 100% convinced you can create mind-blowing music. Hell, even with this song and the songs that I don't particularly like, I can recognize your insane talent - it's not like you guys even make boring or bad songs (they're all really good songs, just somewhat boring MECHINA songs). It's just that it feels like there's more that could be done and you're simply not doing it for whatever reason. Of course it's not up to me to tell you how to direct your music, what to make, or how to make it; I am not a member of the band and ultimately you should do what pleases you, but I simply cannot believe that making what is essentially the same album with only 1 or 2 songs (out of 12) being unique pleases you or brings you fulfilment. I am excited for this upcoming release because your guys not releasing an album on the first makes me hopeful that this new album has had more time to 'cook' so to speak. I will ALWAYS be a supporter of this band, of you guys, and of your guys' incredible talent, but at the same time it's like seeing a once prolific and trailblazing painter of intricate and lifelike forests relegate their talent to drawing illustrations of grass fields. To quote what I said from I believe a year or so ago, only Mechina can do Mechina, but it sounds like you can't even do Mechina anymore.
i never thought i'd say this but i'd like a track more like iron law and anathema. There so much lyrics going on that it's impossible for me to put in the time to learn it and i forgot to rock out. I miss the grooviness of the old stuff. I love you work, though, everyone.
I absolutely love this! The only thing I wish, is that they turned down the orchestrations and pushed it back in the mix, the orchestra and the layers are too bright imo! The guitars and drums and bass and vocals are amazing and I want to hear more of that!!!. Also, the return of Dave's cleans would be amazing. Love Mel, but we've had the past 2 albums full of her amazing voice and not much of Dave
Beautiful counterpart to The World We Lost. Showing the more emotional side of Andara's last message. Honestly I'm curious, did she *know* she would likely be a victim of Cryoshock at journey's end? It seems like she did. Also I don't quite get the title. Other than contrasting The World We Lost, it didn't seem like there was much saving done in this track
I honestly intepret the title as the fact they saved themselves and *maybe* their close family members which would be their world now that Earth is dead.
It could be a reference to all the people that they saved on board the ship headed for a new world, or it could mean her emotional world (i.e. her children) were saved, and that's what mattered to her.
Yeah I think it’s metaphorical. The world we lost- meaning literally earth was lost. But the world we saved/still have, is the future of humanity as a species. It didn’t die with earth.
Holding out hope for a return on more than a couple songs is unrealistic at this point. No need to hope for something that's likely not going to happen...
As much as I love Mels voice, I really miss Davids harsh/clean voice change. Songs like Progenitor, Impact Proxy and Ashes Of Old Earth are the definition of Melodic Death Metal for me. I'm sorry, I know everyone says what they miss in your music but thats my feedback. I still love your music
Completely agree there, the dynamic is what makes mechina so great, both vocalists should go hand in hand throughout the album. This is good, but nothing is better than when Mel and David are having that beautiful duality.
Joe, good as always. For the fans from beginning we need old raw Mechina like on the first record The Assembly of Tyrants. Please, go back to your roots. Reconsider if you have that in mind. Thanks for everything
There will come a day , when your band in all of its glory will be able to perform live ! Something along side off a space opera in a the Las Vegas thingy the big LED stadion that would be sick !
