Not for me Chigz, certainly not at $140+ Not sure I'd even pay half that. Without the ability to load .APK files, it's basic IMO.

As you say in the sum up - the innovation is great, but it's... still lacking in some areas. 100m Lan is a big one as is the lack of expandable storage & ability to install APK's. Obvious the Netflix thing is also annoying, but maybe, just maybe.. if they release an updated version of this... it really could be game changing.

Great device although Apks are blocked!? What's the point in blocking 3rd party apks when you have the ability to stream 4K Netflix and such. Also only 2gb ram is poor 4-6gb ram we are in 2021 not 2019. Thanks for the interesting review Chigz much appreciated 👍

dose the camea work with normal camera apps? I know some are configured as USB cameras which is unsupported on some apps compared to inbuilt cameras

Awesome review.. 1. If someone call from there regular phone, outside the duo app, using their regular means of making a call, will it pop up on your screen? 2. Will this work with a video doorbell? I would be forver greatful for these answers as I need these features. Thanks brother.

I have a question.... Can we connect a usb internet dongle ?, Rather than being dependant on wifi or eithernet, also does it have Netflix app working and lastly can i use browser to search a website

Blocked APKs has gotta to be a bug considering the excellent chip set they used. Not sure why you would install that particular hardware if you wont allow it to be used. The built in calling feature is nice, but im thinking a simpe USB cam plugged into an android box could accomplish the same thing. The fact they haven't yet fixed their relationship with Netflix is kinda shitty and the Tiktok button is TERRIBLE.

I bet the duo is still shite, on my mi box 3 I have it installed and logitec c920s pro connected , but in duo settings there are only 2 options for camera resolution and they are both the same, 480 the camera is probably still connected on a USB bus and not as an internal camera and I am not even sure you can get resolution over 480 supported for cams even if they are not connected as USB on android TV ,seems it is limited to 480 no matter what unless there is a hack or workaround or unless Google has changed this now,

*if* they could sort out the Netflix issue, LAN speed, APK installation it would be a great option. I'd buy several of them (at around $100usd) if the afore-mentioned issues are resolved in the next model.

Let me guess , they built in a 1080 camera (albeit at a lowly 2MP) for duo and even included a duo button on the remote but the video quality is still a pathetic 480 for duo calls is there no way to add driver support to android TV devices that supports better than stone age potato cam resolution? it was a nice try but with 480 camera resolution and no sideloading I would not give them $20 for this garbage

Actually, I did and the response was not very helpful: Response: "Yes, currently the APK function is not opened to users. As the product is designed to mainly solve the video call situation for those who are separated in different household"
