Mecynorrhina torquata ugandensis - a blue male 

In the dark of the earth, in their pupal chamber, that is where they are born after a long life as larva in rotten leaves and debris of trees and wood. I always wonder what they feel, if they realise that they have wings inside a ball of dirt ! With our kind of "believe" we would die instantenously. Don't we ?
