I read that Columbia is slowly becoming one of the most popular destinations for solo travelers and I can see why. It appears to be a really enjoyable place where the US dollar is strong and can go far. Definitely thinking about going next year, so I've been watching a lot of vlogs and I am leaning more towards Medellin over over Cartagena. Per research, the food is much better in Cartagena, but I'm not looking for a party scene; it's also it's incredibly hot in Cartagena; and the top attractions/things to do all seem like tourist traps (e.g. mud volcano and bora bora beach club).
